The Scared Cheetah

Prologue

The spotted brown tom woke up to see his white furred sister leaving the den to head to the medicine cat den. He was happy she had found a place she belonged. His other sister, the one with ginger fur, was heading out the other side of the den to find her friend. She had been ditching the rest of her family to hang out with the black furred warrior. The spotted brown tom couldn't stand it. He looked over to his two brothers. They were still asleep thankfully. They were nice to have around, but he liked it better alone. He didn't have to worry about it then.

There was always Smokepaw he could go and talk to. The she cat was kinda of family to the kits, but she really wasn't. She was like the adoptive sister none of us really knew. She was nice and everything, but I tried not to talk to her. She was an apprentice after all. He tried not to talk to them if he could help it. He was just scared of them since they had more power over him or they were mean. One of them was nice to him, but he still didn't talk to her that much. It was just casual if they were talking. There never was anything interesting to tell a kit.

The spotted brown tom got up from his nest wanting to get some prey. His stomach was growling and his mother had told them they had to eat prey now. They were four moons old now. They only had two moons left until they were made apprentices! He was really excited to become an apprentice but also worried. That would take a lot of training and he was sure he wasn't going to be able to have a lot of fun with his siblings once they begin it. Flamekit was already training and stayed away from everyone except Heatstar and Blackbriar.

He wondered who he could have as a mentor. Blackbriar was most likely going to be the mentor of Flamekit. Heavyclaw had Halfpaw. Windfur had Snowpaw. Woodheart had Whitepaw. Lionfeather had Smokepaw. That left Heatstar, Redear, Leopardleap for mentors. That was only three so all of them were going to be a mentor since Bluekit was going to become a medicine cat. He was almost certain Heatstar wouldn't want another apprentice right after he got done training one, but he would have to take one.

The spotted tom could handle Leopardleap. She was really nice. He thought that Redear deserved Silverkit since he was strong. That would have left Heatstar with Tigerkit. That would be a fun pair to see. Heatstar was humble but yet, Tigerkit was trying to make it all about him and protect his siblings. He was also getting stronger. That pair would have let the two teach each other some stuff. He just wished that would all be true but he didn't know what the future would hold for him or his siblings.
