{basically seamus has been acting really distant and depressed lately. He's ignoring people and refusing to go out, even skipping dinner. No one really knows what to do, especially Dean who just wants his best friend to be happy again}

"Son of a bitch!" Seamus yelled as he burned yet another hole through a cauldron. "Mr. Finnigan, watch your language. Fifty points from Gryffindor." Snape snapped at him. Seamus groaned and put his head back. As the students were dismissed from class Seamus quickly gathered his things and left the room, ignoring Dean and Neville's calls to him. "Ay, what's his problem?" Neville asked Dean. "I'm not sure. But I intend to find out." Dean said going after him.

"Hey! Seamus!" Dean yelled as he tried to catch up to his friend in the hallway. He finally caught up and walked next to him. "Hey are you good mate?" Dean asked his friend. "Spectacular." Seamus replied sarcastically. "Hey don't worry about it mate. Snape's just horrible to everybody. Plus don't worry about the cauldron, it's not even that serious." Dean tried to cheer Seamus up. "I don't care about the bloody cauldron." Seamus said. "Wait! Aren't you coming to dinner!?" Dean asked stopping in front of the great hall. Seamus just kept walking. Dean sighed and went into the hall and sat down in his usual spot at the Gryffindor table.

As students started filling in his other friends started showing up and sitting down. "Hey Dean where's Seamus?" Neville asked him after he sat down. "He didn't want to come." Dean replied quietly. "Again? That's the third time this week." Hermione said sounding concerned. "Aren't you worried?" She asked Dean. "Well of course I'm worried! But what can I do if he won't talk to me?" Dean said. "If he won't talk to you then something might really be wrong don't you think? You are his best friend." Harry pointed out. "That's the thing. I call myself his best friend and I don't even now what's wrong with him, nor can I get him to tell me. I'm a horrid friend." Dean ranted placing his head on his hand. "No Dean you're a great friend. He's probably just dealing with some stuff." Hermione said trying to cheer him up. "Even so. I want to be able to help him. I really care about him and I hate seeing him so depressed and distant. It honestly hurts. I just want him to smile again." Dean said, not even paying attention to the words coming out of his mouth. Neville and Ron smirked while Hermione gave a small smile and leaned forward. "Dean dear. Do you have feelings for Seamus?" She asked him. "W-what!" Dean stammered while turning bright red. "D-don't be ridiculous. He's my best friend." He finally managed to get out. "Sure mate." Neville laughed.

"You know I saw when the fat lady was trying to break that glass that you two were holding hands." Ron said.

"Or when Buckbeak was getting upset and Seamus instantly moved close to you." Neville added.

"You two were literally dancing, hand in hand, at the Yule Ball." Hermione laughed.

"S-so?" Dean stuttered. "When did all of these things happen?" Harry asked, completely confused. "For the love of Merlin Harry, you're so oblivious." Ron groaned while rolling his eyes. "Oblivious to what? Nothing's even happening between me and Seamus. We're just friends. And that's all we'll ever be." Dean said. He looked a little sad as he said that last part. "That may be what you think, but did you ever wonder how he feels. What if he likes you Dean? And that's what's wrong, and he can't tell you because he's not ready to admit his feelings." Hermione said earning looks from the whole group. After hearing that Dean shot up from the table and started to head out of the Great Hall. "Where are you going?" Neville yelled after him. "To talk to Seamus." Dean yelled back as he turned the corner.

Dean quickly climbed through the portrait hole into the Gryffindor common room. "Seamus!" He shouted once he got inside. There was no answer. "Seamus!" He shouted again. Still no reply. He ran up the stairs and into the bedroom only to find Seamus laying on his bed, wide awake. "Jeez mate did you not hear me calling you?" Dean asked him. Seamus just shrugged. Dean sighed and sat down next to him in the bed.

"Can I ask you something Seamus? Something, important." Dean asked him. "Sure." Seamus replied quietly. His voice cracking. It sounded as if he had been crying. "Hey this is serious mate." Dean said pulling Seamus upright. "Please take this seriously." Dean said putting his hands in Seamus' shoulders. Seamus nodded his head. "Ok. I just... need to know Seamus. Do, do you... like me?" Dean asked him. Seamus' tired looking eyes widened in shock. "What?" Was all he managed to get out. "Do you like me? Is this the reason why you've been acting different lately. Do you have feelings for me that you're struggling with. Please Seamus I need you to tell me. I need to know if my best friend is in love me. Because if he is I need to let him know that I'm in love with him too." Dean confessed moving his hands from Seamus' shoulders to his face. "What." Was all Seamus managed to say again but this time in a shakier voice with tears in his eyes. "Do I need to refrase it?" Dean asked moving closer to his face. He finally closed the rest of the space between them by connecting their lips. The tears slipped from Seamus' eyes as wrapped his arms tightly around Dean, as if he never wanted to let go. He closed his eyes and melted into it. They turned it from a kiss to a small make out. They finally pulled apart and their eyes met. "Want to join me for dinner?" Dean asked him. Seamus smiled and nodded. Then they walked, hand in hand, to the Great Hall. Earning smiles from their friends and a mutter from Draco. "It's about bloody time."
