Chapter 23 : Chances

Hinata's PoV~
I glance around, I'm really sure someone is really here since I can sense a faint chakra in here. I frowns at this, but I think Sasuke already went back before I get here or he just went the other way. I swim towards the big rock, and peek behind it to see no one.. I sigh in relief at this and lean my back on the rock, letting a out sigh as I stare at the moon.

Sasuke's PoV~
I can literally hear her swimming towards where I'm hiding at!! I quickly swim to the other side of the rock and lean on it, I heard her lean on the other side, I can heard my own heart beating so fast. Damn it, she's just one rock behind me.. Now how can I even leave here!!?!?!?

Hinata's PoV~
I wash myself up and stood up, twisting my hair to let the water out of my hair, I swim towards the land and got up, taking the towel and dry myself up. Suddenly I heard a shuffling of sounds and I turn to my back, I frown and quickly activated my byakugan, but the sense of chakra was already gone. I quickly put on my clothes and went back in the camp to see Sasuke already there in the fire

"Uchiha-san did you take a bath already?" I sit beside him , taking the heat

"Y-yeah.." His face was covering his hair, and I can see it dripping from his hair

"D-did you just -"

"I'm going to stay on watch" he quickly got up and sat on the tree beside my tent, My face quickly turn red from this

'I-it can't be him.. maybe just a rabbit or s-something..' I nod at my own thoughts and went inside the tent. I close my eyes and tried to sleep..

Sasuke's PoV~
   I glimpse from her tent and back at the fire, it's been an hour since she entered her tent. I guess she's probably sleeping now.

"Ne Hinata.." I know she's sleeping already so it's not bad to talk to her.. she won't hear it anyway.

"Did you know even know.. what I felt when you left me so suddenly? " I let out a faint laugh and rest my head on the tree
"I really thought I was going to be crazy... the feelings I had suddenly had impact on me like a rain.. first My clan was slaughtered, Itachi killed them, I killed Itachi, I found out the truth. I've seen Itachi again in the war and I lose him again.. So many things have lost to me and I already got use to it.. but.." I look at her tent and smile sadly

"Why does it hurt so much when I lose you? Hinata.. please.. come back... I want to say that but.. I know you're not ready for whatever reason that is but.. I'll become stronger so I can protect you, and you can depend on me.. Hold onto that promise of mine.. even though you can't hear it.." I gently touch the tent where she is

"Sleep well ok?" I sigh and turns to the forest to stay on guard.

Hinata's PoV~
The next morning came by, I really can't look at Sasuke in the eye, everytime I tried I always remember last night.. yes, I heard it all. I can't sleep for an hour and when I decided to sleep again, I can already hear Sasuke saying something..

We soon headed to our destination with no enemies to pass by at. It was a village where there is wood barrier surrounding it, there's 2 guards by the gate who stop us

"What's your business here?" One of the guards ask us, Sasuke was the first one to speak

"We're from Konoha, we were sent here for a mission by Lord Hokage" the two guards look at each other suspiciously , suddenly there's a faint voice from behind them, a girl with long brown hair was running towards us with a scroll in her hand

She panted heavily as soon as she reach the gates
"You're the konoha guys?? Hey let them in, I got the leader's permission" she handed the scroll to the guards who immediately read it and let us in
