"Ms.Martinez it is very important you tell us everything that has happened today and if they is any history of Mr.Martinez being an abusive figure or anything that would signal his behavior."said the police officer patiently while sitting behind his desk with a computer at hand. I look around observing the room noticing the light spilling through the blinds of the window showing a distant sunset.

"Hello Ms.Martinez are you paying attention?" He said slowly getting impatient

"Huh?... Oh i apologize Officer Brooks i just spaced out but as we was saying when i got home i was in the middle of notifying my mom i had arrived because normally my dad is still at work but i here sounds from upstairs and so i slide my hand into the drawl of the desk and grab the knife we have for protection and I silently make my way upstairs and i here yelling halfway up so i head up faster and when im at the top of the stairs i here my father yell and-"

" um excuse me but do you recall what he said" Officer Brooks said curiously

"Oh yes um he called her a dirty slut and said it was all her fault but anyways i go up there and see him beating my mom and so i try to stop him and he slapped me so i ran out and called the police"

" Do you have cameras in the house because if so we are going to need the footage and we need to examine the marks and bruises that you and your mom have "after that said i showed some detective lady the bruise i had on my arm and the and the bruise i had under my jaw them the mark i had from him kicking me in the side.

" Ok Ms.Martinez since your mother is not in a stable condition at this point you will need a place to stay so at the moment you will need to stay with family or if needed a foster home until your mother is up and healthy again ."

" WHAT ?!?
Why do i need to go to a foster home cant i just stay at a friends?!??"

"Calm down Ms.Martinez you would only have to do so if you didnt have a family to go to and of course your twin brother Ivan will have have to stay with you so you would have to go to a foster home or a family."

" How can you expect me to calm down when i have no family left " i said confused

" Im sorry but we have recently been informed that you have an aunt in Los Angles "

" Wait but i was told all my family was dead other than my my parents"

"Well im sad to say your mother has a twin sister named Alana Doltan and she is expected to meet you guys at the airport in two hours and you will be living with her until further notice"
