I tossed my makeup bag onto the vanity my name card laid upon, and sat at the chair. Today was officially the end of my first week at the night club here in Seoul, South Korea. Our boss was a very polite business man, though I picked up some Mafia vibes from him. The little card said tonight was very important, that we were having important men coming by for a party. I had nodded to myself, and took a deep breath.
I began my makeup, when I flew here I had left all of my old stuff in America. I figured I needed an all new start, and that began with my look. As I started, I heard a few of the other girls speaking. There were three of them, I haven't learned their names just yet. I understood what they said, but roughly. What I could understand, was they were talking about a record label.
Disregarding them, I placed my headphones in and pressed play on my phone. My favorite artist played loudly through my headphones, which I smiled about. I was basically your average girl who was obsessed with Korean Pop and Hip Hop music. I decided to move here when I was 12, when my mothers mental abuse had increased when my dad left for another woman, in another state. I never heard from him after he left, I don't think I'd ever want to. I'm 20 now, and I'm finally far away from my mother.
The whole time I had been here my makeup was very minimal, but tonight I decided it was time to step it up a notch and really draw attention to myself. I did a gold glitter cut crease, winged my eyeliner, and did a pink ombre lip. I dug into my bag to grab my outfit. tonight I brought my black bodysuit, corset and stockings.
When I changed into my work clothes, those girls were now giggling. From the corner of my eye, I saw they were now talking about Jay Park. "I don't think that's who's coming tonight... If it is, I might die.", I thought to myself. He was too popular to come here, as well known as it was here. I slipped on my heels, and brushed it off. No matter who was coming, I needed to put on a good show.
I had about an hour until I was due to be with the other girls on stage, so I stretched my legs out. I heard my bosses voice. As he walked in, I greeted him.
"Annyeonghaseyo." I spoke softly, unsure of if I said it correctly. "I'm sorry if that's incorrect, Mr. Kangjŏn. I'm still learning." I didn't look towards him, but I knew he was behind me. I looked at the floor in front of me as I stretched my left leg, and I felt more than just my boss behind me.
"You're quite alright, Niko. Learning by trial and error is fine with me, as long as you try. But, I do have someone here to meet you. This is our very important guest for tonight.", I lifted myself off of the ground, and adjusted my stockings before I turned around.
My heart fucking sank.
"Nika, this is Jaebum. I'm sure you know very well of who he is." I nodded, and I bit my lower lip as I held my hand out for him to shake. Instead of giving my hand a shake, he kissed the pale flesh across my knuckles. "Good to meet you, Niko. I'm sure you'll be giving all of us at AOMG a good show, I'd love to see you after work...", He winked, and I nodded once more. I released my lip, and smiled. "Yeah, I can do that.", I could feel myself turning a bright red immediately. But I felt unsure if he wanted me, or the other girls. I took a deep breath, and spun on my heels to walk away from the two men.
"See you soon, Jaebum.", I tried to sound confident, I'm sure my flushed cheeks ruined that for me but I had to try. I placed my phone and headphones in my bag, and made my way onto the stage; It was packed, and I saw Jay take a seat on one of the couches. I took a deep breath, and paraded my way to the pole in front of them, swaying my long brown hair side to side. I spun around the pole, wrapping my legs around it and held myself upside-down, I spread my legs wide open. As I looked at the crowd watching me, I accidentally made eye contact with a familiar pair of eyes, who summoned me over.
"Coming, Jay..."
