Chapter 2

'Emma's pov'

I was very tired after work, so once I got home, I was ready to take a nap. I started making dinner for my self, assuming my roommate already ate, I just made something small. That's when I remembered the note that doctor gave me. I open the note and read it.

Emma,

Since your a student physician, I think you should hear my opinion on this 'saving lives' type of thing, and since I have been a doctor for a long time, I want you to listen carefully. I will meet you on your break tomorrow.

Dr. Smiley

After I read that, I wanted to know. Will he really tell the truth, or is he all lies, and what does he mean by break? I put the note back on the counter and ate my food. I soon went up to bed, still thinking of what he has to say.

-THE NEXT DAY-

'beep beep beep beep' "FUCK OFF!!!!" I yell, slamming my hand on the alarm, shutting it off. I growl slowly getting of my bed. I really don't like mornings, definitely when its 5 am. I make my bed, get dress, do my hair, and go down stairs to make breakfast. I soon finish around 5:38, and leave at 5:40.

-AT WORK-

I just finished working on a patient with a kidney replace. He came in panicking about how he lost his kidney when he was sleeping, not my business to get into, I mean, nor I want to, its not usual for people to come in yelling about how their 'kidneys' got stolen from them. Is even normal? God I'm fucked in the head. I need help, like, now. God! SHUT UP! WORK DAMMIT! "Emma?" My boss said trying to get my attention. "Oh sorry, lost in space I guess.' I laugh. "You have a break today, I want you back here by noon sharp, clear." he commands. I was hesitant, "yeah, got it." and with that he was out, 'oooookay' I thought. "How did Dr. Smiley know I was going to have a break?" I mumble to myself "because I heard him."
