My life is totally perfect.
Like beyond perfect.
I have awesome friends, a cool house, the latest iPhone, the cutest puppy, and the sweetest boyfriend.
The only not-so-totally perfect part is my family. My dad hurts my mom. Only sometimes. She says it's not a big deal.
"Clara, go back to bed sweetie. I'm fine. I promise."
"Are you sure?"
"Positive."
She would say that, but I could see the pain in her eyes. Not to mention the bruises on her arms.
But I kept quiet.
I didn't want him to hurt me too.
I would just go to my friend Lacy's house the next day. It kind of was annoying how her parents were always like
"Clara, we are sooo sorry you are going through this. Do you want to talk about it?"
"No."
"Are you sure sweetie?"
"Positive."
"Come on, Clara. Let's just go to my room." Lacy would say.
"Sorry about my parents. They're like way to overprotective."
"At least they care."
"What?"
"Just drop it."
After that we do homework and text our boyfriends. Just like normal teenage girls.
Normal.
"So how's Ryan?" Lacy would say with a smirk.
"Shut up!" I would say with a giggle.
That's what I like about Lacy. I can say to drop a subject and she will. Just like that. Simple.
Simple.
"But seriously, how is he?"
"Fine! Why? Did you hear something?"
"No, no. Just wondering."
"Sooo how's Toby?"
"He's fine." she will say with a silly grin on her face.
"Fantastic." I would say.
Fantastic.
"The other day Sara started a new rumor. Did you here it?" She asked.
"No I didn't actually. What was it?"
Sara is the popular, yet mean girl. she makes up stupid rumors about everyone. Once she told everyone that May Perdicey was going to transfer back into elementary school because she was retarted. What she didn't realize was that May was actually like super smart. She won last year's spelling and health bee. Sara is really annoying, and like me and Lacy's arch rival. I'm tied with her for popularity, and Lacy is tied for second with Brienna, Sara's little sidekick. Sara and Brienna are dating football players, and Lacy and I are dating basketball players.
"So the rumor is that Brienna and Bryce are having problems. I know for a fact that isn't true because I saw them walking home today holding hands. Brienna probably wanted Sara to say that for like publicity. I don't know, but it's really stupid."
"Yea that's stupid." I would say.
Stupid.
"Well, I have to go. But I'll text ya."
"Baaiii!!" Lacy would say with a smirk.
"Bye." I would say, while laughing.
I really just needed to leave. Get out of their perfect home with their perfect family.
