I get up, get ready and head to work. The day goes by as usual, except at lunch I call Sam to make sure he's okay by himself. He tells me everything is 'all good' and I return to my daily routine.

When work is done I head home. I pull into the driveway as usual and walk into the house.
"I'm home!" I shout through the house.
"Welcome!" Greets my lively wife, and the days continue basically like this.

The following Sunday I take my family down to a local community event, supporting the families of the lost children, there was a fundraiser and 'fun' activities and all that. Everything proceeded as normal except for one thing, Lizzy tugs on my pants to get my attention, points to the road and says,
"Daddy there's a weird man across the road."
"A weird man?" I look across the road and see a homeless man holding a sign saying the basic stuff, something like 'homeless and unemployed can't eat' or something like that.
"Honey that's not a weird man, he's just having a tough time right now."
"Is he cold?"
"In this weather probably not, why would he be cold?"
"He's wearing a big coat and a big hat, I can't even see his face!"

I get confused cause the homeless man I see has dirty clothes on but no coat or hat and I can see his greasy beard and face with no difficulty.

"The man holding the sign?"
"No daddy, the man over there!" She points to the left a little but still across the road.

I see a man in a big trench coat and hat that makes his face barely visible except his eyes. He is watching the people at the event but more so at us. I get scared and grab her hand.

"Come on honey, let's go find mommy and Sam."

When we got home I told Sam to stay at grandma's house during the day just for a bit, because of all the news and I don't want him in danger.
