We Have Forgotten About AIDS

Gone are the touching speeches and the red ribbons.
What's left is the decreasing use of condoms.
More boys are having sex younger.
People have more partners feeding their sexual hunger.
We have forgotten about AIDS.

We think it only affects the gay.
While all our lives continue to decay.
We think it only affects the poor.
While life spans are getting lower.
We think it is a distant threat.
We know it's not so hard to treat.
With only one pill per day,
We think there's time to play.
We have forgotten about AIDS.

The death rate keeps rising.
It's not the only thing going high.
With what's known as 'Bluetooth'
We are sitting on the high booth.
We need a loud wake-up call,
So we can stop the blood swaps and all.
We have to turn off the infection tap.
We have to get off Father AIDS' lap.
Prevention is better than cure.
It's the only way to keep us pure.
But we don't care about that anymore.
Because we don't remember AIDS anymore.
We have forgotten about AIDS.
