Chappie Five: Capture The Flag

Luna POV

Alice sat next to me and we started to talk about random stuff, like trying to guess who our parents are and stuff like that. Alice said that she thought that maybe my dad was Apollo because of my orange/red hair, but the I told her he didn't feel right.

She then told me that maybe my mom was Demeter because of my calmness. I told her that I agree with her but I have a feeling it also isn't her. Then I told her that maybe since she was so mysterious that maybe her mom was Hecate. She said it was possible but she didn't really know.

We laughed a little bit and told some jokes but then Chiron banged his hoof on the ground to get everyone's attention. "Everyone, tonight is capture the flag. Athena's Cabin and their team vs Ares Cabin and their team." Chiron told everyone and we all cheered.

"Also we have one more announcement, there are two new campers" Chiron said "Alice and Luna, please come up here."

We walked up to the front and a hush fell over the campers.

"This is Alice Wish, her godly parent is unknown for now" Chiron said and Alice stepped forward and then whispered a quiet "hi" before stepping backwards.

"And this is Luna..." Chiron trailed off at the end, I realized that he didn't know my last name.

"I am Luna Valkery, it's nice to meet you all" I told everyone in a confident voice and stepped forward.

I heard some people start to whisper and I caught a few of the mutterings.

Maybe she is a spy.
Who is she?
She looks suspicious.
She acts like a goddess, what if she is one?

The last one made me giggle and I stepped backwards. I took hold of Alice's hand and I felt her hand was shaking, showing that she was nervous. I quietly led her back to our seats, her trembling hands calming down a little.

We both sat down and then Chiron walked off. I was about to take a bite of my food when I saw that everyone was going to the fire and dumping there best portions of there food into the fire. I nudged Alice and she looked at me and saw what the people where doing.

"Oh, come on let's do it, I think it's like sacrifices" she said and stood up with her plate.

We both walked to the fire and dumped our best portions of our meal into the fire before going back to our seats and siting down. We then started to eat our delicious food.

I was starting to feel more at home here, maybe this was my destiny.
After about twenty more minutes another horn rang and people started to chant. "Capture The Flag!! Capture The Flag!! Capture The Flag!!"

Alice and I started to chant too and everyone started to run towards the woods. Alice and I ran over to a table that a few other people where at.

It had a bunch of weapons on it so I grabbed three throwing knives while Alice grabbed two daggers. We ran towards the woods where our teams flag was and we waited for the signal to start.

Another bell rang and most of our team mates except for a few kids, Percy, a girl with blonde hair, Nico, and Kayla, ran off into the woods.

Alice and I ran into the woods. We swerved around some people and ran towards the flag of the other team. I stopped her and we crouched low behind a bush.

"So here's the plan, you distract the people near the flag and I will grab the flag and run, you ready?" Alice asked me and I nodded.

"Ok so run out there in three, two, one!" At one I bolted out of our hiding place and towards the people guarding the flag.

They saw me and charged towards me I took out my knives and stayed a few feet away from them.

I got out my three throwing knives and balanced them perfectly in between my fingers.

I really didn't want to fight them or hurt them so I reared back my arm and threw them. The knives narrowly missed their heads and they all stood there, stunned for a moment.

I saw Alice grab the flag and run off into the forest. Running back to the people I dodged them attacking me and grabbed my knives before followed right behind her. Pointing the knives at anyone from a different team that came too close.

We crossed the border onto our side of the forest and cheered. The people from the other team who were chasing us stopped at the border and stared at us. Our team heard us and saw us with the flag and they cheered and lifted Alice up into there shoulders.

"Alice! Alice! Alice! Alice!" Everybody cheered and carried her out of the forest in there shoulders.

Everyone went to a giant grassy field and placed Alice on the ground. Chiron came out of the forest and said in a loud voice.

"Luna Valkyrie! Come here!" He said in an loud voice.

Everyone went silent and I slowly walked up to him.

"Am I in trouble?" I asked staring up at him in fear.

His face softened and he said "no, but tell me, where did you learn to throw knives like that? You threw knives at three people and narrowed missed them, only stunning them."

I stared at him "I never learned to throw them, I just threw it."

His eye brow raised and he asked   me "do you have a mortal mother or father?"

"I don't have any paren-" I got cut off by a glow coming from above me.

A hush fell over everyone and I looked up to see a fiery/gold glowing fire place above my head.

Chitons eyes widened and he kneeled down in respect.

"Hail Luna Valkery, daughter of Hestia, the oldest Goddess" he said and everyone stared at me.

Suddenly everyone in the field knelt down, including Mr. D, who I didn't even notice was here until now. Suddenly I realized something, I was the daughter of a maiden goddess.
