The thunder cracked but I just laughed.
Through rain-blurred windows worried eyes observed but
they had no reason for concern;
I wouldn't mind if the lightning were to burn
through me-
to sear each vein.
A vital part of life is pain.
I learned yesterday that
vitality is rain.
I feel alive again.
You can't deny my eyes look different
now from then.
I sat on that porch and everything washed away.
I sat on the porch a child
in wild wonder.
My heartbeat became thunder,
my mind softened like the soil
and the sky fell upon me.
