(Gerard's pov)
It didn't take long for them to make their way back to the table. As soon as I noticed them coming my way, I had to leave. But before I could get up and run, frank was sitting beside me, and Mikey and Ray were already making out.
"Hi", I say smiling at him. "Um, hi, I'm..uh.. Frank Iero." He says quietly. " I know. I'm Gerard Way. Nice to finally meet you." I say taking his hand in mine. He blushes and that makes me laugh. "Isn't your free period next period?" Gerard had been watching him and taking note of his schedule. They both had a free period the last two hours of the day which was right after lunch. "Uh yea" frank says. " Do you wanna get out of here? Like leave?" I ask not knowing why. "I'd love to." He says smiling.
I take his hand and lead him out of the cafeteria to our lockers. I grab my bag and my jacket. "It's pretty hot outside, I don't honk you'll need a jacket." Frank says. "I know but I never leave without one, I'm like a jacket slut." I say making him giggle. "Let's go grab my bag real quick." He says leading me to his locker. What he doesn't know is that I know exactly where his locker is and could get to it from anywhere. I pass by it everyday and it makes me smile.
The bell rings and we start to make our way out of the front doors. "Hey fag, where do you think your going?" A voice that wasn't very familiar makes frank back into me and clutch onto my hand. "Hey Frankie how's it going, have you been avoiding me?" He asks making his way towards us. "How are you?" I ask buffing up my chest, and standing tall. "Oh you must be another fag, we'll you wanna know what I do to fags?" He throws a fist at me but i move to the left of him and he misses. I punch him in the face and don't move. "I'd Frankie alone, if I was you." I say pushing him into the wall and punching him again. Frank pulls on my shirt "Come on Gee," he says with his dad puppy dog eyes, that I can't resist. "Let's go" I say leading the way to my car.
When we get in my car he stares out the window silently. "I'm sorry " I say, again just letting words slip out of my mouth. "Oh Gee it's ok, there is nothing to be sorry about, it's my fault anyway." He says not looking my way. "Nothing is was your fault." I say taking his face in my hands and forcing him to look at me. "It's my fault because I'm a gay fag and everyone hates me." He says and I can really see the sadness in his eyes. "Frankie, I don't hate you, and if your gay, that's fine. Cause guess what so am I and so is Mikey and Ray. Please don't say everyone hates you cause nobody does. Who hates you Frankie?" I ask him. "My Dad for one" he says turning back to the window. "No, why would your dad hate you?" I ask taking his hand in mine. "Because I'm the reason my mom left. She couldn't handle me and my dad was always drunk, is always drunk, so she left. And he reminds me of hat every night. He comes into my room and takes all his anger out on my. Hits me, cuts me, I...i " he breaks off and a tear runs down his face. I climb over the middle console and wrap my arms around him. "It's ok baby. I've got you. Let it all out." I say and let him cry into my shoulder. "Frankie, baby, how about we go to my place. Only me and Mikey live there so it's ok." I ask him after 10 minutes or so. "Okay" he says shaking his head quietly. I climb back over into the driver seat, and start my car. I steer with one hand and take Frankie's hand with my other. I turn up the music and Green Day's "21 guns" is playing. I sing along, and Frankie smiles at me. I love that. I love him.
