(Jayden's POV)

I woke up in a daze, but wanting to stay asleep. I sat up and stretched up my arms, hearing the popping of my joints. I looked beside me to see Torin still asleep next to me, his mouth opened slightly, and his eyes shut dreaming about what he likes.

I looked down and sighed.

'Is it really not my fault this happened, or I'd he just saying that so I don't feel bad, maybe it's best if I just listen to him'

I stood up, hearing my knees pop.

I walked over to the door of the cell, seeing if I can pick the lock. No use, Sayden and Alterra have powers maybe the both of us don't know about.

I looked down at my feet.

'Why did this happen to us? Why are we here? Why...

'Why are we so different' I finally asked myself. I dropped to my knees and sobbed. But heard a voice behind me.

"Jayden? You OK?" Torin asked. I quickly wiped away my tears and turned to look at him. "Y-yeah, I'm fine."

But he knew I was lying.

(Torin's POV)

I woke up to the sound of sobbing. I sat up to see Jayden crying on her knees a few feet away from me.

"Jayden? You OK?" I asked. Her wiped away her tears and answered, her voice was soft and monotone.

"Y-yeah, I'm fine." She replied.

I could see right through her lies like they were thin air.

"Jayden... You're not fine." I said with a serious face and voice tone. I got up and walked over to where she was kneeling.

I tried to look at her, but she turned her head slightly, not making eye contact.

I-I said I'm fine, OK! Don't *sniff* worry about me!" She replied a bit louder this time.

I gently wrapped my arm around her shoulders.

"Huh?" She looked at me.

"Jayden," I started. "I know what you are thinking, but stop thinking it. Like I said before, it's not your fault." I said.

She started to stutter.

"B-but it is though!" She said, sobs breaking her words. "If-if-if..I...just!!!" I hugged her gently, rubbing her back with my good hand.

"Shhh....it's gonna be alright." She panted and dug her face in my hoodie.

"Now, will you please tell me what's wrong? I promise I won't freak the fuck out."

We sat silently, waiting for a response.

Instead of a response, she threw herself at me and embraced me as if I were to disappear at any moment. Tears soaked my shirt but I didn't care.

Jayden is probably the biggest hugger I've ever met.

I laughed and patted her back with my hand.

"If you had missed, you would have gotten stabbed by my hook!" I said in a half-cheerful, half-saddening smile, along with a small bit of a pirate voice. I was rewarded with a faint chuckle under all the sobs. I decided to continue.
