"Interesting, these pictures are pretty impressive, Ms. Romero."
I gave my boss, Jeanette, a small smile of appreciation, "Thank you Ms. Alvarado, I worked pretty hard to take a shot of these polar bears, I couldn't have done it without Lily." Here I was, in a small agency, giving my boss, Jeannette Alvarado, the pictures I took with my assistant photographer, Lily Olee.
"Well, keep up the good work girls." Jeanette says, giving us a serious, yet thankful look, I could tell, because of her cashmere colored eyes weren't glinting. Lily and I both nod, and turn our backs, until Jeanette said, "Wait! Girls! I have another place for you girls to go to."
Lily and I both turn back to look at Jeanette, whom had random papers in her hands, "I need you girls to go to Canada." I gasped. Why in the world would we have to go to Canada?
"I have a reason for it, you see, I need you girls to get a few pictures from the upcoming carnival, and other things that I will request in the future, I already arranged everything, so, we are going to Canada." Jeannette explains, giving us both our passports.
I put my passport in my back pocket, and ask nervously, "Canada? Can't we go somewhere else?"
"No, I didn't get any other requests, I hope you two go to the airport tomorrow, your flight leaves at nine a.m." Jeannette says, stacking random papers, and turning back to face her laptop, not paying attention to us anymore. I slowly look down at the specific location Jeanette wanted us to go to, and when I did, I gasped, I was going back to my old home.
---------------------------------------------------
"Woohoo! We're going to my hometown!" Lily chirps, jumping up and down, her green eyes glinting in excitement. Lily, Lily Olee, was my assistant photographer, she was assigned to me when I was in my full complete year of photography, and since I knew a lot about it, Lily was my helper, she was still considered a rookie to me.
All I knew about her, is that she was eighteen, and started four months ago. I could tell she loved nature, considering the fact that she got excited when we had to do something having to do with animals, heck, she even pet a seal once without getting bitten, so she's someone worth having. Even though she was eighteen, she acted a lot like a five year old, and was a big talker, although she is mostly quiet when in contact with animals.
"Wait, you're from Canada?" I ask in surprise. We've been together for a while and I didn't even know where she was from.
"Yup, to be honest, I'm pretty excited, I might even have a chance to meet my parents again." Lily says, dragging her suitcase along the airport's glistening floored tiles. The word 'parents' made my stomach churn. I haven't visited them nor have I made contact with them, I just silently prayed that I wouldn't run into them while I was there.
"Oh? Erm, mine too, I guess." I say awkwardly, that is, until the airport announced, "Passengers of Flight 822 need to come aboard."
"Crap, come on! We can't just waste the plane tickets!" Lily said, speed walking now, and showing the lady her passport, with me doing the same, and we both ran out, getting on our plane, Flight 822. The plane was large, and it was a big struggle trying to run with heavy suitcases, but hey, I did this all the time.
Lily and I both find two empty seats. I hold my breath as I heave my luggage on the shelves, and I sit back down on my seat, with Lily doing the same. I sit back on my seat and slow my breathing down, inhaling slowly and calmly. I didn't really like running out of breath. I look out of my window, and wait for the plane to take off, holding my camera close to me.
Canada, here I come...
