Lost (Rilaya)

Chapter 1: Another day

                           Riley's P.O.V.

as I woke up I tried to cover my face as the light coming through the bay window hit my face, when that didn't work I turned over in an attempt to shield my eyes from the bright sun, but of course me being clumsy I fell right onto the floor with a loud THUD! I lifted myself from the floor with a small grunt. once I was standing I went to my closet to get ready for school.

once I was dressed I stepped out into the kitchen where my family was eating breakfast. 

"Good morning'" my mother chirped as she set my plate on the table, I only acknowledged her with a small nod and quiet 

"thank you." as sat down to eat my breakfast. 

"how are you doing, sweetie?" my father asked, terrible without Maya I thought 

"fine'" I responded not looking up from my plate. 

"okay." my dad replied knowing I didn't feel like talking. Thankfully Auggie started to talk about the soccer game he had later this week, while I just moved around the food on my plate not feeling hungry. My mom noticed this saying 

"Riley I know you don't want to but you need to eat." 

"I know but I just don't feel hungry." I said. My mom gave me a sympathetic look and said 

"i'm not going to make you eat right now, but you better eat at lunch." I nodded. 

"okay, well you better get going or you'll be late" she said. I got up and said goodbye as I walked out the door and headed to school.

as I walked into school I was greeted by Farkle, 

"hey Riley!" he greeted enthusiastically, 

"hi Farkle." I said less excited but still happily. 

"how was your weekend?" he asked as we started to walk towards my locker.

"boring." I responded as I opened my locker, "yours?" 

"it was good me and Smackle watched a documentary about Mars on Saturday and then Lucas and I went to the bowling alley on Sunday." he explained as I gathered my books for first period. 

"how is Lucas I haven't seen him since Wednesday?" I asked as I closed my locker. 

"He's as good as he can be considering what all has happened recently." Farkle said as we walked to our first period English class. 

"yeah." i replied sadly. as we reached our class Farkle stopped me and said 

" Riley how have you been ever since Maya disappeared you haven't been the same i'm worried about you." he said quietly so no one could hear him, 

"Farkle i'm fine let's just go to class." I said trying to walk past him, but he wouldn't move. 

"Riley your not fine, you barley talk and you never hang out with us anymore." he responded as I was still trying to walk past him.

"Farkle please just let it go." I said giving up trying to walk past him, as all the students in the hall started walking into there classrooms.

"No! Riley i'm not going to let it go your my friend and I care about you, and if there's something wrong I want to know so I can make it better!" he said almost yelling. I looked at him trying not to cry, he noticed and hugged me saying,

"oh Riley." I hugged back burying my face into his shoulder as quiet tears streamed down my face. 

"I just miss her Farkle!" I cried.
