Everything Emma loved had been destroyed in that battle. Her inventions, her home, her parents. She was sitting by herself, pondering on how to get revenge when her older sister, Sophie, walked in.
"It won't be long until they find us. We need your help with some traps." Sophie explained. Emma burst in anger. "Traps? For defense? Why are we defending ourselves? The roles should be reversed! We should be out looking for them, searching for vengeance! Come on, Sophie! Let's get the fuck out of here and do some cool bad ass Mission Impossible shit! Come on, I know you want to! So please! I'm tired of sitting around. I want revenge." Emma broke into angry tears. Sophie wrapped an arm around Emma. "You know, why don't we do that?" Sophie asked. Emma looked up slowly, and the sisters grinned madly. Again, after 10 years, Emma was staring into the eyes of an idiot, but at least this idiot was her kind of idiot. Not stupid, just crazy.
Ethan woke up on the cold, hard, ground, uncomfortable and in chains. "Alice!" Ethan thought, looking around frantically, but was relieved when he saw Alice snuggled up to his side. They had been taken prisoner by Seth. On the upside, they were alive. On the downside, Seth now had a bargaining chip with his children.
Ethan felt Alice shift slowly into consciousness, fluttering her pretty eyes open, looking up at Ethan, before wrapping Ethan in a tight embrace. Ethan looked down lovingly, stroking Alice's cheek. As dangerous as the situation was, Ethan and Alice were together. And right now, that's all that mattered to them.
Ethan and Alice sat up. After hours of peaceful silence, they heard the tinkering of metal. A resounding click followed by the groaning of the prison door opening, before they were met with the face of Emma, grinning widely. "The sweet, sweet smell of freshly baked revenge is coming out of the oven," Emma said, unlocking the chains on Ethan and Alice's bodies, before they all stood up. Ethan and Alice embraced their daughter before all turning to meet the rest of their children.
