( the dance )
Lia's POV
The graduation last night was pretty emotional. I have never seen so many adults crying in my entire life. It was pretty pathetic of them honestly.
Tonight's the dance. I'm really nervous since it's my first dance and I'm going with the boys.
I get dressed in this really cute party dress that I found at David's Bridal for only $50.00.
I finish my makeup as Finn and Jack come into the bathroom and both stand next to each other silently.
"Hello? How can I help you?" I question with a slight attitude. "We have something to tell you." Jack looks at Finn who looks nervous. "Go ahead. Spill the beans." I chuckle. "We're gay and we're in love." Jack tells me. "I knew it!" I shout with so much enthusiasm. "Quiet down! I don't want mom and dad to know." Jack shushes me. "I ship you both so hard. I'm really happy for you guys." I smile. "Aww, thanks, Lia. We're really happy for you and Jaeden too." Finn jokes. "Take that back you little brat!" I tackle Finn. "Don't tackle my boyfriend!" Jack freaks out. "Okay fine. I don't want to mess up my dress and makeup anyway." I push both boys out of the bathroom so I could finish getting ready.
Mom drops Jack, Finn, and I at the dance. We all meet up with Wyatt and Jaeden by the bleachers in the gym. They wave us over as soon as we spot them.
"Hi, boys." I greet. "Hey, Lia, you look fantastic by the way." Wyatt compliments me and Jaeden nods in agreement. I blush a little bit. I try hiding my face so they can't see, but my idiot brother had to open his mouth. "Aww, Lia is blushing! She has a crush." Jack teases me. "I do not!" I defend. "Whatever." He shrugs and walks with Finn to the punch.
"Hopefully nobody spiked the punch." Jaeden cracks a joke to make things less awkward for all of us. "I would laugh if someone actually did." I giggle. "Jinn Fack is real, guys." Wyatt randomly tells us. "I know." I casually state. "We've known for the past twenty minutes. They both texted us about it." Wyatt tries to brag before I ruin his confidence. "I've known for an hour." I dab in front of his face and then I walk away casually since Sophia and Chosen had just walked into the room at the perfect moment and time.
"Sophia, you look gorgeous in that dress!" I hug her tightly. "You look beautiful yourself too." She hugs me back. "Hey, Chosen." I smile at him. "What's up, Lia?" We both give each other a fist bump. "Ah, nothing much, mah dude." I cross my arms and stand against a pole. "Has anybody spiked the punch yet?" Chosen asks. "I don't know and I don't want to find out." I chuckle. "It'd be better if we just both stayed away from the snack table." He laughs. "I agree with you on that one." I nod. "Where's Jaeden?" He questions. "He's over there with Wyatt. I'll bring you to him." I walk Chosen over to where Jaeden and Wyatt are standing.
"Chosen, my man!" Jaeden greets him. "It totally hasn't been three hours since I've seen you!" Chosen sarcastically states. "It has been three hours." Jaeden doesn't catch on to the sarcasm. "Jaeden,"
Chosen sighs, "do I ever tell you that I love you?" He wonders. Jaeden finally catches on and then blushes from embarrassment."I want to test out the photo booth! Who wants to come with me?" Wyatt eagerly jumps up and down like a little kid. "I'll go with you." Chosen and him walk to the photo booth together.
"I guess it's just you and me now." Jaeden said. "Yes, unfortunately." I joked. "Hahaha, very funny." Jaeden rolls his eyes. "Don't be such a noob." I poke Jaeden's side. "You're being a nooble." Jaeden laughs. "You're being a bully." I pout. "You're the bully, Lia." Jaeden pouts, trying to copy me. "Stop copying me!" I frown. "Someone's getting mad now." Jaeden takes my hand. "Are we going to dance or something?" I give Jaeden a questionable look. "If you'd like to. I mean y-you don't have to." Jaeden blushes. "I do." I smile widely.
Jaeden puts his arms around my waist while I put my arms around his neck. We slowly dance to "Take My Breath Away" (super romantic ikr😂). We both dance in silence and avoid eye contact with one another. (wtf? why did i write this? who tf avoids eye contact with their crush when they're dancing? like tf was i thinking?)
Just as Jaeden was about to open up his mouth start up a conversation, Wyatt comes over and pushes me onto Jaeden and my lips press against his lips accidentally.
"What the hell, Wyatt?" I shriek. "Whoops! Sorry, Lia." Wyatt smirks. "You're such a douche!" I stomp off angrily.
I sit down on the bleachers before Jaeden comes over and sits next to me. I ignore his presence and stare deeply at the dance floor where everybody is dancing including Sophia and Chosen.
"Was that your first kiss too?" Jaeden finally speaks after five minutes of complete silence. I give him a look before nodding my head slowly. "I'm sorry." He slightly frowns at me. "It's not your fault. It's not like I had my first kiss with a complete ass shat." I make myself chuckle. "It's better than having my first kiss with somebody that I don't care about." Jaeden makes a small smile. He takes his hand and puts it in mine and we both give each other one of those adorable friendship smiles.
Yeah, exactly. A friendship smile. He only thinks of me as a friend and nothing more...
