( the sleepover and mcdonalds trip )
Lia's POV
It's only been a few hours since I had gotten assaulted so in order to kind of cheer me up, Jae invited all of our friends over for a sleepover.
It didn't take long for everybody to arrive since we all live in the same area/neighborhood. Whatever you want to call it. Jaeden lives in the cul-de-sac next to my cul-de-sac. Sophia, Jeremy, and Finn live in the neighborhood across the street from Jaeden and I's cul-de-sac's. Wyatt lives across the street from me and Chosen lives two neighborhoods over from all of us.
Jaeden asked me if he could tell everybody what happened on the date and I agreed, but left the room when he did tell all of them. I heard all of their reactions which really scared me. I really didn't want to talk about what happened with them and I really didn't want them to pity me or comfort me. I'm just not in the mood for it.
Jaeden texted me to come downstairs once he finished talking to everyone. I grabbed my phone off of his charger and fixed his bed before quietly walking downstairs.
Everyone started staring at me as I walked downstairs which made me even more angry. I shouldn't be angry at my friends. It's just that so much has happened today and I'm still hurt over it. I don't know if I could ever recover from what I experienced earlier.
"Can I help you guys?" I snap at everyone. "Sorry." Sophia quickly apologizes and then looks away. "You okay, sis?" Jack asks. "I'm fine." I take a seat next to Jaeden on the couch. "No, you're not." Wyatt buds in. Sophia and Finn are currently sitting on the floor in front of Jaeden and I. Wyatt and Chosen are on the other couch while Jack and Jeremy are sharing the lazy boy together.
"I'm fine, Wyatt." I sigh. "You're lying, Lia. You're not fine. How could you be fine after what happened?" Wyatt starts to get irritated. "Why should you guys even care? You guys weren't even there. Do you know how traumatized I was? I was scared. I didn't know if I was going to get raped back there. So maybe I am fine. Maybe I realized that I'm luckier than all of those other females that get raped every single fucking day out there. Maybe I realized that I was overreacting. Or maybe I realized that I was dumb enough to even go on that stupid date. Do you even know why I went? Probably not because none of you even believe me when I fucking say that I'm fine." I cross my arms.
Silence. Nobody says a word. Figures.
"You're right." Jeremy finally speaks up and agrees with me. "I know I am." I look at everybody except Jaeden since he doesn't have a part in this at all. This wasn't his fault. He didn't say anything to piss me off.
"Lets change the subject. Who wants to watch a movie?" Jeremy changes the subject for me. I mouth a quick 'thank you' to him before Jaeden grabs my arm and pulls me into the other living room.
Some of the guys get up and go to Jaeden's movie shelf to look for a few movies to watch while Sophia and the other boys go to the kitchen for snacks and drinks.
"This is all my fault." Jaeden puts his head in his hands. "How is it your fault, Jae? Did you assault me? Did you tell me what I was really worth to my face?" I ask with sadness in my voice. "What do you mean by that?" Curiosity erupts in his voice. "What do I mean by what?" I question cluelessly. "Tell you what you were really worth." He repeats what I said a few seconds ago. "Max told me everything I was." I shrug. "Beautiful? Wise? Funny? Brave? The list goes on." Jaeden names everything I supposedly am to him. "You're just saying that because you feel bad for me." I slightly chuckle. "No, I'm telling the truth. When have I ever lied to you?" He makes me think for a moment. Never. He's never lied to me. "Never." I reply. "Exactly. Don't let anybody tell you what you're not worth ever again. You're worth the entire world. You're completely beautiful. Don't let some prick bring you to tears ever again, Lia." Jaeden smiles. "Thank you, Jae." I blush.
"So do you want to go to McDonald's?" He asks while chuckling really loudly. "Duh! I'd love to go to McDonald's." I giggle.
We both hop onto Jaeden's bike and bike on over to Mickey D's.
We order double cheeseburgers, medium fries, and sweet teas. Jaeden pays since he's a gentlemen. We then head back to house and everybody is in shock since nobody realized that we were even gone.
"You guys didn't even pick us up anything! How rude." Jack pouts. "Somebody's upset. Finn cheer your boyfriend up." I laugh. "I'm on it." Finn rushes over to Jack and hugs him tightly.
We all laugh and curl up with each other on Jaeden's living room floor with blankets, pillows, and all. Jack wanted to watch 'Forrest Gump' so that's exactly what we're doing. No other way than to spend the first night of summer.
