Thank You

I woke up in the middle of the night, I was leaning on Anti's shoulder and he was leaning on me. I slowly got up, waking him up in the process.

He groaned and realized that we'd fallen asleep on each other.

The TV was still on. I wasn't tired at all. I got up off the bed and lit my lanterns.

"Are you still tired?" I asked grabbing the bottle.

"A little." He said. I took a swig of the bottle and set it down. I looked at my clock, it read 3:06.

Great.

"I'm going to stay up. I'm not tired, if you wish to go back to bed that's fine." I say turning off the TV.

"I'll stay up, I'm not that tired." Anti smiled.

"Alright." I chuckled.

"I need a cigarette." I said standing. Anti nodded and we walked out.

"Shite, it's cold out here." He said rubbing his arms as we walked to the side yard. I just shrugged my shoulders in response.

"Your really not cold?" Anti asked as we sat down.

"Not at all. I think it feels nice actually." I lit a cigarette.

We sat in silence as I smoked my cigarette.

"So, how long are you planning on keeping me around?" Anti looked somewhat nervous and worried.

"That depends I suppose." I said looking out into the night sky.

"On what?" He seemed scared.

"On how you act, your loyalty. I mean, you are kind of my slave at this point. I am holding you captive." I said putting out my cigarette.

"Yeah, I just. I like it here. I like how nice it is. I like how you're nice to me. I like learning from you and helping you, and I didn't think it'd be something fun because I am your slave. But it's something that I don't want to change, even if you release me, I'd stay. Only if you'd let me, of course. Others... they aren't very nice." Anti was fiddling with his hands. He sounded sad.

I stood up and held out my arms for a hug.

He looked up at me and hesitated for a moment before standing and wrapping his arms around me.

"Anti, I like you, and I know what it's like being treated as other people's punching bag. I would never do that to you. As long as you are loyal to me and honest, you are welcome to stay." I said rubbing his back feeling bad for him.

He pulled away from the hug.

"Thank you." He smiled.

"You're welcome." I returned the smile and kissed his cheek. He blushed and we walked inside.

I walked through my bedroom door and over to the desk where the bottle was. I picked it up and took a gulp. Anti walked over and grabbed it from me taking a drink.

"It's funny how, when we first met, you tried to be this badass demon. You were a lot more cocky and confident. I was suppose to be the scared innocent one. Then you realized what I was capable of and now it's almost like a role reverse." I chuckled he cocked his head at me.

"I can still be scary, confident, and sarcastic." He pouted.

"I'm sure you can, however, I am not afraid of you." I said smirking.

"Yes I'm aware." He said.

"I would have been like that all of the time if you weren't so good at being a witch." Anti smiled.

"I could even be in your dreams right now, I bet you would have been so mesmerized by me if you were any other girl. Even lustful perhaps." He laughed at the last part, half joking.

"Ah yes, because the way you speak, everything just rolls off of your lips dripping with lust. Oh I bet no mortal woman or man could control themselves around you." I mocked laughing.

"Its true." He exhaled smiling.

"But none of them intrigue me the way you do. None so graceful, nor pretty." He said blankly looking at the bottle.

"Mr. Anti, did you just confess your love to me?" I joked placing my hand over my heart.

He chuckled and took a swig of the bottle and I took it back. He sat down on the bed.

"You know, you aren't so bad yourself." I said taking a seat in my desk chair.

"Really? Not bad? I'm a demon." He looked almost sad saying that.

A cute one.

"You act more human than anything, plus 'demon' is what you make it. It's not anything like what people think. Little red men with pitch forks, horns, and a tail? I think you're greatly underrated, unappreciated, and misunderstood. Demons are like people with emotions and needs too. People just think that they are evil and only evil. I think that they can be good." I said slightly spinning in my chair.

"Really? You think we could be good? You think pretty highly of demons. Most think we are lowest of the low. And I understand, I mean, we kill and torture just to kill and torture." He shrugged.

"So do humans." I said looking at him.

"Yeah, I guess. I'm glad you don't think that all of us are terrible. There are a few good ones. But the rest are horrible." He said reaching for the bottle.

"Yes, and I'm glad your one of the good ones. It gets lonely up here sometimes and your company is appreciated, even if you are my slave." I giggled.

"I'm glad to be your slave then someone else's." Anti said sincerely.

"I'm glad." I smiled.

"Well, I think I'm going to try to go back to sleep until the sun wakes me up." I said standing and stretching.

"Oh, ok. I'll go to bed too." He said sounding ever so slightly sad.

"Goodnight, Anti." I smiled and gave him a hug before he walked out of the door and down the hall into his room.

I turned off the TV and lanterns and lay in bed.

I should have just kissed him earlier. It was a perfect opportunity. I'll just have to wait for another time. I mean, I should get to know him more also. I just, ugh.

He's so attractive and his Irish accent drives me crazy. He is amazing. Shhh (y/n)! You need to go to sleep. Shut up and sleep!

I closed my eyes and rolled over drifting into slumber.
