JIHOON'S POV
Honestly, I didn't say anything further. They both look like a mess, well, at least Chungha does. Doyeon obviously looked confused and taken aback, her mouth was wide enough for anything to enter. I let them digest everything down and after a few minutes Chungha's sobbing halted and Doyeon crouched.
"Let's not tell her-"
"WHAT DO YOU MEA-"
"-yet," and as I finished what I was saying earlier, Doyeon darted a cold look at me.
"Why are you acting so coldly? This is so unlike you Dodo," I pointed out.
"Just deal with it, she's always like this when she's tired," Chungha folded her arms and looked away, sighing.
"We must tell her, okay? And what makes you think that now isn't the right time?" Doyeon asked; worry, sadness, and anger all blended into one, all of those emotions reflected in her tone.
I rubbed my eyes, inhaled and exhaled.
"She went through a lot okay? I don't want her condition to worsen because of this."
"BUT SHE WILL FREAK OUT AND IT WOULD BE EVEN WORSE THAT WAY!" Doyeon yelled and Chungha hit her lap.
"Can't you be quiet? At least know where we are okay? We're in public."
"Yeah, but no one's here so it doesn't matter," Doyeon pushed Chungha's hand away and Chungha shook her head.
I looked at them both and sighed.
Then I checked my watch, It's 12:37 AM, and with that, I stood up and started walking away.
"YAH! Where the hell do you think you're going?!" Doyeon yelled loudly. I could hear their footsteps coming towards my direction already.
"Jihoonie, where are you going?" Chungha caught up with me and I stopped looking down at her.
"We'll settle this some other time. For now, I'll drive you both home," I lead them to my car and they followed behind me.
"Where do you want to sit?" I nodded my head towards Doyeon.
"I'll sit on the front seat."
"Okay, that leaves Chungha then. You'll sit on the back seat," Doyeon was already entering the car while I guided Chungha towards the right side of my car.
Opening the door for Chungha she paused before going in and looked at me.
"Such a gentleman," a warm smile formed on my lips and I nodded. She went in and I closed the door behind her. I entered the car and put on my seatbelt.
"YAH! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?" in an instant, I looked back, seeing Chungha talking to her brother.
Riiight, Jimin hyung is here...and along with Sungwoon hyung too...LOL.
"Well, I was at Jihoon's and asked if he could give me a ride," Jimin hyung nodded towards my direction, "right Jihoon?"
I nodded and Jimin hyung gave his sister a sly smile and rolled his eyes, puffing out a breath.
Good thing Jimin hyung was in the middle...
Sungwoon hyung looked over at Chungha, "Annyeonghaseo," he gave a little bow and smiled.
"Aigoo, Chungha, look at you! You don't even need makeup," Doyeon looked at her best friend from the rear view mirror, because, damn. It was just a greeting. Chungha's face was crimson red.
Everyone in the car laughed except for Sungwoon hyung who was smiling and, kind of confused, and Chungha who was obviously embarrassed.
Girls are sure head over heals for the boys they like.
I wonder if I can make Princess go head over heals for me. Meh.
"Gaja!" I chuckled and started driving.
GONGJU'S POV
The sun pierced right into my eyes causing me to blink a few times. I stopped when the curtain closed. It was my mom.
"Sweetheart, you're awake," my mom showed me the song she was listening to and gave me a smile.
I smiled and jokingly rolled my eyes after I rubbed them, "Please, you became and ARMY because of me," I chuckled and her expression changed from a happy one to a gloomy one.
Then she started sobbing.
I quickly grabbed a few sheets of tissues that were in the tissue box on the side table by my bed. Wiping her tears she pulled me into a hug.
"Mom? What's going on?"
NARRATOR'S POV
That night, Jihoon dropped Chungha, Jimin, Doyeon, and went to dorm with Sungwoon.
It was 1:07 AM in the morning when he sent a text to Mrs. Heileg.
"Good morning Mrs. Heileg.
I am aware that you are not awake and that telling you this over text might shock you, however, it is very important for you to know this.
Your child is diagnosed with lung cancer, and to put it into words in regards to how I knew this, it was from an envelope of files that was supposed to arrive yesterday.
However, it did not arrive at Gongju's house because I stopped the courier, which was a nurse before she could enter the house and deliver it successfully to Gongju.
I am very sorry about this. I will give you the files tomorrow." - Jihoon
And with that, Jihoon pressed send.
GONGJU'S POV
I was still hugging my mom and I started rubbing her back.
"Mom, please tell me, what's going on?" my voice started trembling. I hated to see anyone of my parents solemn like this. Specially when it's all so sudden.
She pulled back and slowly and her eyes met mine. I wiped her cheeks and my eyes questioned her with worry.
"Y-you...," she trailed off sobbing again, "h-how c-could this happen t-to you?" lowering her head, she covered her face with her hands and cried even more.
I went down from my bed and joined her kneeling down at the side. I didn't hesitate to pull her into a hug and rubbed her back, trying to console her.
"Mom, you can tell me, what is going on?" I could feel her hands rubbing her eyes within the hug.
"Can you promise me something?" she said.
"Yes."
"Promise me, your father, and everyone you know you love that we love you and we will never hurt you. Promise me you won't stop loving what you love to do. And promise me you won't change," she told me.
"I promise," she pulled away and her eyes met mine.
"You fainted."
