Chapter 3-Betrayal

The Next Morning..

The majestic ball of fire made its dramatic entrance,I snuggling deeply into the warmth of my blanket,I groan as the light hit my face.I turn my head away from the light filtering through the windows.With the drowsy scent of slumber still enveloping me,I fumble into the bathroom to start my new day.

I inhale the hot steam swirling from the brew coffee,sipping continuously as the hot liquid warm my throat.To be honest,I was quite tired to start my day.I sit on the chair which is put next to the window beside my bed and the last night memories come back..

Last night memories...

"Yoo D", I said.
"Yeah what?",He replied."I seriously don't have idea why did you have to invite me to go to club with you instead of your girlfriend",I said to him

."How did you know that I have a girlfriend.Oh wait..You were there when I proposed her...Umm..Well I broke up with her.Now let's have fun",he whispered because of the loudness in the club.


"You what !!!!??",I screamed to make sure he heard me.

"Shut the fuck up and have fun !!"he screamed back.

I was so surprised of how he act like I never ever seen him like that.He date with the most popular girl in the highschool and both of them look so cute together.I wondered what have been happen when I am not here for 2 years ago.

"Diego,let's get out of here.You are wasted as fuck and I have to go to work tomorrow.I can't have fun especially when my dad are asking me to meet him and I am nervous with what he want to told me",I said back with tears in my eyes because one,my dad is in the hospital and I have to meet him.He suffered from a brain cancer.I love him too much and I am not ready to lost him.I have lost my mom and no way I can lost the other one.

"No,I'm still having fun here.Don't you see it??.I am trying to enjoy myself out here.Just please bare with me"He said.

"I want to D,but we have to go home like right now.It's getting late and we both have to go to work tomorrow.I know you're trying to wash your pain away by having alcohol in your systems but that's not gonna work,okay.Let's go home.I'll drive you home"I said. I was pretty devastated with how he handle his situation.I can't have him go around and hook up with random ass girls on the street so I offered him a ride.

"Fine,let's go home and by the way sorry for everything.I didn't mean to you know do this but the pain that she did has make me going crazy.I cried every night wondering why she leave me.I am seriously didn't mean to ended our friendship 2 years ago.I'm sorry",he said as his tears fall down on his cheek.I hugged him and tell him that everything gonna be alright but the truth is I don't know if it gonna be alright.

I held him as we both walked toward my Black Range Rover.I put him on the passenger seat and clutched the seat belt together so that he won't move if I accidently brake.We both in an awkward silence in the car.I focused on the road as he playing with his fingers which I could tell that he is nervous.
 
"Diego,you know you don't have to be nervous around me,right?,I said trying to break the awkward tension between me and him.

"I...I..I''m sorry..It's ju....just I miss you so...so much",He mumbled slowly.Trying to hold his urge to cry but I still could hear what he said.

I tensed up of what he said.I know I heard it clearly but I still scared to trust him after what he had done to me 2 years ago.Me and him fought with each other over 2 years ago because of what he did.He is so stupid and I swore I want to hit him hard.I do but he is still my childhood best friend.He was acting so dumb where he literally slept with my fiance,Halsey.Halsey and I have been in relationship for 5 years.I caught both of them when they having their 'funny business' together.I was damn mad of what he did and of course I was so damn devastated with Halsey.
 

I sent him back to his house.I know he still living with his parent and his parent know me.We're both know each other since in womb and our parents is best friend so meeting his parents,make me feel sad as the memories of mom came back to my mind.

I reached at his house.He couldn't walk properly because of the alcohol so I had to carry him.I knocked on the door three times and no one open it.I knocked again and his mother appear.

"Oh my god !! Hola mija,its been so long",she said happily when she saw my face.

"Hola Auntie,yeah its been so long.I miss you !!!',I said as my eyes begin to tears because looking at her,remind me to my mom.

"Come in Michelle and just put Diego on the couch",she said quickly.I could see her worried face .I don't know what happen the moment I left Miami 2 years ago but I can definitely tell that its bad.

"Okay Auntie.How are you?Where Uncle?',I said cause Diego's dad is like my dad too.I mean he used to call me his daughter back then.

"Your uncle is on his duty.You know with him being a detective right now,he's not always being around anymore",she said slowly.I could see pain in her eyes.I felt sympathy for her.

"Uncle Jerry is a great man and I'm sure he does not want this to be happen too",I said and smile at her.

"I guess you're right,darling.How are you?You look so....so different.",she said with a shocked face.

"I'm good.",I said and simply giggled because I don't know how to react to her.

"Mija,you know that we love you right?When you left Miami 2 years ago,we were so heartbroken especially Diego.He was so depressed and anxious about you.I can't bare with him back then.He used to being drunk all the times and even try to hurt himself because of what he done for you.I could see that Diego is really need you and love you.Can you forgive him?",she said.I froze.All i can do is stared at her as she playing with her finger.

"Auntie,I love you too.but what he had done to me is unforgettable.I may will forgive him but sometime things will never be the same.He had to earn my trust and he need to know that he cannot always fix something that already had been broken",I said carefully.Trying to find the right words to express my feeling and I hope that she understand my reason.

"I know darling and you also have to rest.Okay?",she said with a genuine smile.

"I will Auntie.It's getting late so I have to go home now.Goodbye and take care.",I said as I hugged her tightly.

"Goodbye mija",she said with her spanish accent.

I drove my black range rover and went back home.I want to prepare myself for tomorrow and meet dad.I know something is going on and I wanna know what it is.
