Sharna walked down the same wooden steps she took up to her bedroom the night before.

 The scent of pancakes and currently brewing coffee filled the hallway.

 “Good morning, Muffin.” Val raised a spatula as a good morning gesture.

 “Morning, Val.” She kissed him.

 “I know it is a pro offday, but when are your rehearsals with James?”

 “Ummm…” She checked her phone calendar. “10 a.m to 7 p.m., then 7:45-11:30.”

 “Okay, work hard today.”

 “I will.”

 The couple sat in a comfortable silence once the breakfast was finished cooking.

 “How's he doing?” She quietly asked, anxiety bubbling up inside her as every second passed.

 “Well, Princess, Maks is doing alright. He is supposed to be out of the hospital in a few days.”

 “Good, good. And Peta…?”

 “Peta is with him. She's doing just great as well.”

 They finished their breakfast in the same comfortable silence as it started in, then Sharna went to get ready.

                           ~~~~~
 Sharna was in the middle of pulling her hair up until she felt Val’s cold arm wrap around her waist.
 “Love you.” He said and kissed the crown of Sharna's head.
 “Love you too, Babe.” Her thick Australian accent echoed throughout the empty home.
 “I'm going to the hospital to visit Maks, you coming?”
 7:52 a.m. the clock read.
 “Yeah, I'm down.”
 Sharna finished putting her hair up before retreating down the stairs.
 “Last to the car has to drive!” Val laughed and started out the door.
 Sharna dashed in front of him, going as fast as her black Nike shoes and sore legs would take her.
 And Val is driving.
                          ~~~~~

 She shot Peta a text saying we were coming.

 “Good morning, Babes.” Peta came up to Val and Sharna. “He’s right through here.” Peta lead them into a room.

 Once inside the couple unlinked arms and sat around Mak's bed.”

 “Hey, Bro, what's up?”

 “Val?”

 He nodded.

 “Hey, Maks, how are you feeling?”

 “And Sharna?”

 He looked around for a moment then kissed his wife.

 “I'm doing better. Still won't be able to dance until week nine.”

 “You don't want to rush your recovery, Love.” Sharna chimed into the conversation.

 “Yeah, I know.” Maks nodded.
