❦ Chapter Two = Best Night Ever

"Thanks for the coffee, and for the ride." I said. We're now in Starbucks, waiting for the rain to stop. Ashton said he doesn't want to drive in the rain.

He smiled at me, "Let's stay here for a while. I want to spend more time with you."

I took a sip from the cup of coffee, "Damn, it tastes freaking good."

He laughed at me, "how long were you and Lucas together?"

"It's our second year yesterday," I said as I smiled, "can we please not talk about this now?"

"Whatever you say, Lawrence.."

"I like it when people call me by my last name," I chuckled. I don't know why, but I wanted to ask him how much he knows about me.

There was silence while the rain was pouring, making us feel colder.

"I'm freezing," I said as I wrapped my arms around me.

He stood up then took his coat off, then he placed it on me.

"You'll get cold." I whispered as I took the coat off and handed it to him.

"I don't get cold. Put that thing on before I get mad at you."

Before he gets mad at me, huh? Guess what, Ashton? I do not care.

I put the coat on and wrapped myself with it, "Thanks.." I said softly, "how much do you know about me? That came out of nowhere.

"Let's start with.. your name is Brittany Lawrence. Your father left you when you were ten. You have a sister named Sophie. Lucas proposed to you on the school's rooftop. Your best friend is that gorgeous chic.." he trailed off..

"Oh, Heather Smith.. and that guy Cody Scott," he said as he smiled, "Oh, and you took Spanish class last year so that you'd get high grades since you're Ms. Carter's favorite. And your locker number is 142. Your favorite color is pink. For fun, you're into 80's music."

My jaw dropped in shock, "Are you a stalker?"

"I.. have stalked you before. I told you, I had a crush on you before. I thought I'd get a chance with you but you were dating Lucas.. so I gave up."

I don't know what to say, "Can we go now? Let's just talk tomorrow. Mom just texted me, I have to be home by 10."

We stood up then rode his car, I slept on the way home. The sound of rain makes me sleepy.

"And again.. thanks for the ride, Ashton." I said as I smiled at him. I got off the car, then I sat on our bench in our frontyard.

I noticed that the car isn't moving yet. About five minutes later, he got off the car then came near me.

"Brittany.." he started.

"Ashton," I said in the tone the way he said my name.

"You forgot something."

"Oh, how stupid of me," I chuckled, "so... where is it?"

"This.." before I could ask what, he moved his face near me, then kissed my forehead.

My eyes widened in shock. "See you at school, Lawrence." he said, then he rode his car then drove off.

Gosh. Why, Ashton? It's all happening so fast. I even went with you a while ago at Lucas's grave! But.. why is my heart beating so fast? Oh my goodness.

I went inside the house and saw mom and Sophie talking on our kitchen table.

"Hey, what have I missed?" I asked as I sat down with them.
