~Jessica's pov~
I press my forehead up against the car window and watch as we edge closer and closer to my dream university, ignoring Mike's constant moaning about how long the trip is going to take because he, and I quote 'want to fuck off back to his girlfriend and mates' I couldn't care less if he stayed to be honest, I don't need an annoying 17 year old little brother here, or my parents for that matter. I just wanted to be alone, I don't see the point of my family getting a plane ride all the way to Australia just to say goodbye then leave again? Its pointless but it and I quote 'had to be done, so I can just get over it' those were my mums words as she so nicely put it.
I don't get along with my mum that well even tough she likes to think we get along just fine but truth be told I can't stand the woman, she drives me insane, she's one of the reasons that pushed me to go to Australia, to get as far away from her as possible, in front of everyone else, as in guests or her friends, she acts like she adores me and I'm her whole world but as soon as we are alone, she's ice cold towards me, ignores me and there was one time she actually slapped me across the face, that was actually about two months ago, I'm still in a piss about it.
Then there's my dad, we are like best friends, I absolutely love my dad, we're practically best friends, I can always talk to him about anything...except boys, never ever boys. He can be very overprotective of me when it comes to boys, a bit to much for my liking but he is a great dad. We have always had a special bond. I couldn't ask for a better dad.
And finally my annoying ass little brother, Mike. He loves to annoy me its like his favourite hobby...well after smoking...and girls...and booze...and party's. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the idiot I do love him because he's my brother and he does still look out for me, I remember one time I caught my boyfriend cheating on me so when I went home and Mike found out what happened he went over to his house and broke his nose, it was so funny.
"Mum are we almost there.." My train of thoughts are cut off by Mike whining yet again, jesus this boy can be annoying. He hates long journeys but I on the other hand love them. It gives me time to think about everything and my 10 step plan.
"Well why don't you look for yourselves" mum reply's in a bored voice. I don't know why she insisted on coming to say goodbye when she clearly couldn't give a crap. I personally think the woman has bipolar or something, one second she's all happy and excited about being here then the next she's icy and miserable towards everyone. Its not just today either nearly everyday she has these mood swings and it can get really annoying. Mike looks out of his window and immediately gasps at the same time as me, its beautiful....
Most university's are all old fashioned with brick walls and stuff like that but this one is completely different. Its modern. Its practically made of glass, now usually I hate these type of buildings but surrounded by the sun and the fresh green grass they some how managed to pull it off perfectly and this is only the entrance/drop off area. I can't wait to see my dorm room. Most girls back in other countries like England and of course my home country, America you have to share a dorm but in Australia you can have your own for a bit extra money which my dad didn't even think twice about.
As soon as we pull up I don't even wait for mum and dad to say anything before I leap out of the car and to the boot waiting for dad to pop it open. I get weird looks from anyone that just saw my Little outburst from the car but I couldn't care less. I never really have cared what other people taught about me. Once my dad pops the hood my mum, dad and mike climb out of the car and walk over to help me with my bags. Well dad and Mike help mum just stands there and looks at us. Once we have all of my bags resting against the car I close the hood and pick up two bags then shove them at mum and smirk before turning back and picking up 3 for myself to carry. Yes I have a lot of stuff but that's not it, my dad has 4 bags (not all clothes before you judge me) and Mike has 3.
