jungkook pov | next day
Jungkook grips his wooden pencil hard, staring blankly at the thick piece of drawing paper in front of him. He examines what he had produced in the last five minutes - messy sketch lines of a cat's silhouette.
Tufts of his dark brown hair sweeps his forehead, his eyebrows furrowing as he tries to focus in finishing his sketch.
Only five more minutes until art class ends, yet he had spent more time thinking of what to draw instead of actually drawing it out.
Most of his classmates were already done and were roaming around the spacious art room listlessly, shouting and running about like hooligans.
Their loud voices echo through the art room, making Jungkook all the more frustrated.
"Jungkookieee..."
Two firm hands plant themselves on his shoulders, the slender fingers digging deep into his flesh.
Jungkook rolls his eyes and sighs audibly before turning to face the owner of the familiar voice, scowling.
"Mffh... I'm trying to draw, Taehyung. Fuck off, please."
"And I'm the son of the CEO that hired your dad for his well-paying job. I deserve some respect, don't I?"
Taehyung snaps, a triumphant smile emerging from his lips.Jungkook couldn't argue with that. His and Taehyung's father were once best friends back in their school days, so it's no surprise that Taehyung's dad would offer his best friend a well-paying job at his company.
This was also the reason why Jungkook and Taehyung have been friends since birth, literally. They've been inseparable ever since their childhood days, playing and fighting together.
Jungkook thought of Taehyung more of a troublesome brother, since he was goofing around all the time and somehow always manages to drag Jungkook into trouble. Be that as it may, but Jungkook couldn't help but find it amusing and fun to be with Taehyung too.
The scowl on his face slowly vanishes as the other boy takes a step closer.
Jungkook had to admit, the neatly pressed white school uniform on Taehyung and his sharp features made him look exactly what he was - the school's biggest jerk. Among the girls that got rejected by him, at least.
"Whatever. What do you want?"
Taehyung peeks over at Jungkook's paper, noticing the intricate lines and outline of what seems to him like a cat.
"Oh, nice cat. I drew a stick man!"
Taehyung smiles, his eyes sparkling. He quickly unfolds his drawing paper from his pocket, showing it off proudly as if he were a five-year-old.
Jungkook couldn't help but chuckle at that. Taehyung could always make him laugh, no matter how bad the situation.
He proceeds to take a seat on the squeaky wooden chair next to Jungkook.
"Of all 35 people in this room, you choose to sit next to me? I'm still doing my work, idiot."
"Yeah, you're my favourite person in this room."
"Pfft, gay."
"Actually, it's called accompanying-you-while-you-draw-because-you're-the-only-one-in-class-who's-still-drawing."
"Whatever."
"Whatever to you too, art fart."
Taehyung slouches in his seat, fidgeting with Jungkook's set of sharpened wooden pencils on the table.
Jungkook tries his hardest not to get annoyed at Taehyung for messing up his pencils and continues drawing.
"Yah, we still have the Geography project to complete. It's due next Monday."
Jungkook mumbles quietly, the random thought suddenly popping in his mind. He gently taps Taehyung's head with his pencil.
"Mmph. And guess who doesn't care about Geography? Oh right, me!"
Taehyung laments, burying his head in his arms on the table. He hates group projects - in fact, he hates anything and everything academic-related.
"I'm not letting my grades to suffer because of you, either."
With that, Jungkook harshly pulls Taehyung by the collar of his school uniform, forcing him to look up from his resting position - and right in front of him.
Momentarily shocked, Taehyung stares straight into the pair of round brown eyes in front of him, their faces being only inches away.
"Fine, we'll do the Geography project at my house tomorrow. And stop yanking me from the collar, you ass!" Taehyung hisses, his eyes narrowing into little slits.
He continues to sulk and puffs his cheeks up, crossing his slender arms across his chest.
This only earned a soft chuckle from Jungkook, seeing Taehyung acting like a grumpy five year old who was throwing a tantrum.
Satisfied with Taehyung's answer, Jungkook stands up, the horrible screeching of the chair echoing throughout the room as it was being dragged across the tiled floor.
Jungkook strides over to the teachers' desk to hand in his artwork, with a still grumpy Taehyung trailing behind him, his hands stuffed in his pocket.
By then the school bell had already rung, signaling the end of another strenuous school day.
"Thank you, class," Their art teacher, Miss Soo squeaks, while the class of 35 rowdy students ignores the small bespectacled teacher and make a run for the exit.
"See you tomorrow!" Jungkook pipes up rather cheerfully, as he walks with Taehyung down the crowded hallway, heading to the school's foyer.
Rolling his eyes and barely muttering a "bye", Taehyung pulls his phone out of his pocket, tapping on the screen to call his chauffeur to pick him up from school.
As he rounds the corner to the front entrance of the foyer, he catches a glance of a short-haired girl smirking at him, unmoving and mysterious.
She's the girl who confessed to me yesterday, isn't she?
♡
The raven haired boy steps out of the tall white school gates, heading back "home", or rather to the apartment where he lived alone.
He looks over his shoulder to see a still annoyed-looking Taehyung waiting at the foyer, tapping his feet.
"Fucking spoilt brat." Jungkook mutters.
