"Tea party!" Lucy yelled to the boys that were all at the big table, playing stupid games with a rubber band.
"Guys," Hunter said nudging Silas with his elbow, nodding his head towards Lucy.
"What'd you make us short stack?" Xavier asked walking over to the table.
"Tea, crackers, and uhhh... cwumpets," Lucy smiled shyly, not being able to pronounce crumpets.
Hunter smiled widely at his little 3 year old.
"Thanks shortie," he smiled kneeling next to her.
"Take a seat," she said motioning to the tiny, tiny chairs. All the guys looked down at Hunter judgingly.
"You heard the lady," Hunter said taking a seat next to his daughter. The chairs way to tiny to fit the grown men yet they all took a seat around the also way to tiny table.
"Here," she smiled 'pouring' tea into their cups.
"Ah, it looks very good Luc," Silas said picking up one of the plastic cups, pretending to have a sip.
"I wish mommy could be here," Lucy sighed. All the guys shared a look then stared at Hunter.
"I know pumpkin, but mommy... had work," he said to her. He lied.
"I know," she said fiddling with her skirt.
"She's gonna come pick you up soon," Hunter said with a weak smile. Lucy just nodded.
"Cwumpets anyone?" She said putting on a smile.
"Yes please," all the guys said as Hunter just nodded.
"I'll be right back, I need to go to the bathroom," He smiled at his daughter. She just smiled back in approval.
He slid his seat out from the table and walked around back to the bathrooms. He lit a cigarette and took a drag.
"I'm not a drug dealer anymore," he said out loud to no one.
"Hey man," Silas greeted.
"Hey, I know I shouldn't be-" he started.
"It's all cool, I get it, kinda," Silas said with a nod. Hunter just took another drag. "Im glad you're over Aubrey man," Silas said trying to be helpful since it has been about a year.
"Over her? I'll never be over her. Having Lucy was a mistake but I'm not gonna just run out on her, I'm not my dad, I want to be there for her, I don't want to leave her broken,"
"I-I'm sorry," Silas sighed.
"It's whatever man," Hunter said putting out the cigarette, walking back to the tiny table.
"Here daddy, special one for you," Lucy said giving him a tiny Easy Bake meal that spelled 'dad'
"Thank you pumpkin," he said patting her head, sitting next to her yet again.
--
"Lucy! Time to go," Lucy's mom yelled from around the corner.
"Mommy!" Lucy squealed running to her mom. Hunter stood up and started following Lucy around the corner.
"Hop in the car Lucy."
"But I need to say bye," Lucy said going up to Hunter and giving him a big hug.
"I think the guys could also use a hug," Hunter smiled putting her down so that she could go say goodbye to everyone else. She ran up to Silas first then the other two, then back to Hunter.
"Bye daddy."
"See you soon pumpkin," he said giving her a kiss on her forehead. She waved goodbye then ran to the car.
"Still hanging out with those drugies?"
"My friends, and basically family, yea I am. Drugies? Not so much," He replied.
"Also still wreak of cigarette smoke?" She asked.
"Cut the shit Jordan, just take Lucy and go, I'll see her next week," Hunter said taking a few steps back.
"About that, I don't think you're a good example so I was thinking once a month," she said waving as she walked to the car.
"Hold up! I already barely see her, you can't do that," Hunter said raising his voice.
"Watch me," Jordan said as she got in her car and drove away.
