Once upon a time, before the stars were awoken and the moon was shining, there was a quiet sun and lonesome moon.
The Moon was a loner, so alone with nothing beside him. He did not really mind it, as it had always been like that.
He would take long gazes at The Sun, her beautiful long strokes of beaming light, she was illuminating and so breathtakingly beautiful. He would sigh, and on his most lonesome days, wish that they were closer. One day, The Moon woke up to rock in between him and The Sun. A rock of water and green landscapes. He examined this rock of water and land, and discovered tiny beings of life. The Moon was ecstatic! Finally some company! He felt a warm sensation all over him, that made him shine as brightly on the outside, as in.
The moon was illuminating with a shiny white light.. It caught The Suns attention in which she responded with a bright smile, that blinded and dumbfounded The Moon so much, that he lost his light. And so this went on every day as The Moon would see the life of the rock, and The Sun would smile at him.
One day, while watching the life on the rock, The Moon discovered something interesting. He saw 2 lifeforms, become one to make new life. It was the most interesting thing to him. After observing this behaviour some more, he noticed that with a specific lifeform, there were a more complicated and intense mating ritual involved.
It fascinated The Moon. He tried to point it out for The Sun several times, but she couldn't hear him.As The Moon was studying this lifeform, he started to discover something new inside of him. His light would shine brighter and longer on some days than others. The warm sensation inside of him, would fill him up on days, where a lifeform would succeed in their mating ritual.
The Moon was so involved in these small lifeforms, he would forget time and space around him - and even The Sun at times.
He felt with the lifeforms, as their life formed and they grew up.One night, as The Sun was sleeping and The Moon was watching the lifeforms. He was so determined to share his happiness and excitement of the lifeforms, with The Sun.
With all of his might, he forced himself towards her. By the time that he reached his beloved Sun, she had awoken and were baffled by The Moons placement next to her.The Moon quickly explained his intentions, but before he knew it, he was in front of his beloved Sun. He could not resist himself. He tried out something he saw the lifeforms did, that seemed to give them joy, something that he had wanted to try himself.
He leaned over for The Sun, and kissed her, but immediatly burned himself on her.
The Sun was very upset and confused, so she pushed The Moon away. The Moon went back to his home. Now with burning lips and a yearning and broken heart. He now understood the lifeforms. Oh, what he would give for another kiss with The Sun, another touch of her warmth.
The next day, The Moon illuminated the night, as The Sun would brighten up the day - his day as well, as she continued to smile his way.
The Moon would sometimes visit The Sun and steal kisses from her, but everytime she would push him away, he didn't understand why, and the lifeforms didn't show him the answer in their mating ritual too. He would notice that small beaming suns would show up after his visits, and they would shine brightly too, just like The Sun herself, but with The Moons white light.
So what was an old, lonesome moon to do?
All he knew, is that he loved The Sun, more than he ever knew, and that the lifeforms had taught him how to.And that is how The Moon fell in love, with love, and how I love you.
Now, go to sleep my child.
Try to get some rest, and be assured, that tomorrow will come too.
Goodnight.
