Sodapop's POV
I was really nervous about the girls that were gonna come swarming in when we opened the DX. "Hey Steve! What time is it?" I asked. "7:55. Why?" He replied. "It's almost time to open. Hey Jewel, Dally! You might want to hide somewhere." I told them. Dally hid in an isle. Jewel hid behind the counter. "Steve it's time to open." I said. "Ok I think you should open it. I'm gonna hide behind the counter to." Steve said and he hid. I sighed and opened the door and the girls came in after I walked to the cash register.
Steve's POV
I feel bad hiding while Soda has to deal wit the girls by himself. Then I noticed Jewel asking Soda a question and him replying with a yes. She appeared out from under the counter standing near me. She started talking to the girls. "Hey don't forget I'm down here Jewel!" I whisper yelled. She kicked me in the ribs. "OW!" I whispered. "They're gone now Steve." She said. I slowly came out gently holding my ribs. "Want me to take a look at them?" She asked. I nodded. "I think you might have bruised some of them." She checked them and could tell nothing was wrong somehow. "How do you know none of them are broken Jewel?" I asked "It's cause I want to be a nurse some day and I study a lot." She replied.
