I wake up gasping, worried about the twins and then remember Scott said he would take care of them. I get out of bed and walk to the bathroom and relieve myself before getting in the shower to wash my hair and washing the sweat and sudden fear from my sleep down the drain. I get out of the shower and sigh then grab a fluffy towel and dry my hair and body before stepping out of the bathroom and into my closet to choose an outfit for the day.
I then walk to the twin's room to find them in their cribs and Scott on a chair that has been put in between the cribs, and for the first time I realize that I didn't crawl out of bed in the middle of the night to feed or sing a lullaby to one of the usual crying twins.
I smile and grab a blanket from the other room and drape it over the sleeping form of Scott. I walk over to Elliot's crib and pick him up out of the crib and he immediately snuggles into the crook of my arm. I go over to Alexa's crib and pick her up as well.
I walk out of the room quietly, hoping to not wake Scott up, and close the door softly before flapping my wings and fly to the kitchen. I then let the twins fly around in this pen that I created. It has white bars that go all the way to the ceiling and a door so I can walk in and on the floor is a mattress to keep the twins from hurting themselves if they fall. I close the door to the flying pen and walk to the fridge to get bacon and eggs.
I get out a skillet and start cooking the Bacon before cooking the eggs in the Bacon grease. Scott wanders in a few minutes later, drawn to the smell if food.
"I figured that we could just stay home from school to talk about my wings and the twins wings." I say, hoping that he agrees with me.
"Sure, sound good." He says smiling, I sigh.
He seem so relaxed and nonchalant, you would think he does this more often, I think as I plate the eggs and set them on the table along with the Bacon before making two batches of baby formula for the twins. Scott, meanwhile is watching the twins in wonder at they fly around their cage with the energy of a toddler playing in the park.
I giggle before opening the door to the pen and allow the twins to plow into my arms so I could feed them. Scott walks up behind me and takes Elliot from my arms and grabs a bottle and tries to feed the squirming baby.
I laugh and help him out before grabbing the other bottle from the counter to feed Alexa. They gulp down the formula like pigs before burp loudly and trying to fly around. Scott looks stunned by their strength and power. I just laugh at their energy.
"Pearl it's time to test your skills for the week, come to unit 4 for testing." The intercom in my house blares, scaring Scott and making the twins start to sniffle.
I immediately start to sway Alexa to calm her, out of the corner of my eye, I see Scott doing the same with Elliot.
"Want to come watch," I ask Scott as he looks extremely curious.
He nods and follows me to unit 4.
~~~^~~~~^~~~
I walk into unit 4 with Scott trailing behind me curiously. The Doctor stands in the middle of the room, no doubt wanting to meet the famous Scott.
I look around the large room seeing weights, mats, punching bags, treadmills, and all sorts of equipment usually found in a gym. I hand Alexa over to Scott and lead him to the bleachers in the corner of the room.
"Let the show begin," I say smiling at Scott, he smiles back nervously.
I turn around, my back facing Scott, and walk to The Doctor. He instructs me to get on the treadmill and run as fast as I can on the highest setting. I turn the treadmill on and turn it to the highest setting and begin to run, soon I'm a blur and Scott freaks out. I lose my pace and my foot lands weird, and I fly off the treadmill, I right myself by opening my wings and flapping once and then gently land on the ground only to get tackled by a large muscular body and two little bodies with wings.
I land with an umf and start to laugh.
"What's wrong," I ask Scott as he looks me over for injuries that are nonexistent.
"What's wrong? What's wrong is that you flew of the treadmill and almost hit the wall. You scared the hell out of me." Scott rants and I laugh as he glares at me.
"I'm fine, and even if I hit the wall and get hurt, it only takes a few hours to heal my injuries." I say to call Scott down as I rock the upset twins in my arms.
Scott sighs and takes Elliot from my grasp and rocks him the same way as I rock Alexa.
"Your testing is done for the day and I can see that the twins are progressing well so no need to test them today but you need to go to school tomorrow, if not, Scott will not be allowed over." The Doctor lectures me and I nod agreeing to go to school.
I sigh and walk back to my house, Scott trailing behind me.
~~•~~~•~~
As we walk into the door I ask Scott if he wants to go flying. He agree with a confused look on his face as I lead him outside. I smile as I put Alexa in the playpen outside and Scott puts Elliot in with his sister. I stretch my wings as Scott walks up behind me and touches my wings. I jump and snap my wings back as he backs away mumbling sorry.
"No, it's okay, you just startled me a little." I say and open my wings allowing him to feel the soft feathers on the hard wing bones.
"Wow they're so soft and the feel extremely strong and fragile at the same time." Scott says in awe.
I blush and mumble thanks before grinning and saying, "let's fly."
I wrap my arms around Scott's muscled stomach, open my wings, and take off with him squealing like a little kid on Christmas day. He is soon laughing and saying go faster, I just laugh and fly faster.
An hour later we land and it's dinner time so I drag him in the house, with him whining that he wants to fly again. I promise that I will fly with him after school tomorrow before he ate. Stupid stubborn man. I roll my eyes before eating making the twins their meals, feeding them, and placing them in bed. Before retiring myself. I say good night to Scott before padding to my room and collapsing in bed and immediately falling asleep.
