Adam's POV:

He told me everything. After he briefly told me about his parents and sister, I gently urged him to keep talking. He was consoling in me and I had to be the most comforting person possible. He said he had no where to go. So being me, and not knowing what to say or how to say it, I stated:

"You could stay round mine."

He looked at me with his big green eyes.
"Um, I mean, I guess I could-"
"I totally understand if you don't want to, I just thought I'd offer out of..."
"Pity?" He gave a dry smile. "I can find a lovely bench to sleep on, don't worry."
I scratched my head. "I have an air mattress I can blow up and my parents won't mind. You can use our shower too if you want..." I trailed off. His eyes had glazed over and I could tell he was thinking of how to politely decline.

I got up and swung my rucksack over my shoulder. I didn't want to never talk to him again. Hell, I didn't want to leave him at all. I was thinking of how I could give him my number or address without sounding like I was trying to force a friendship...or anything more. I unzipped my bag and pulled out a notepad, jotted down my home phone number and tore the page out.

"You don't have to call, and you can bin this paper if you want." I said, folding the paper in half. "It's just there if you need anything. If you call and my parents pick up, say your looking for Adam because of revision or something." I put the notepad back in my bag and started walking out of the car park.
"Thanks." He said.
"No problem, see you around." I turned to go again.
"No really, I mean thank you for sitting here and listening to my crap."
"It's really no problem... I hope you figure things out - I'm sure you will," I ran my fingers through my hair, "you'll fix everything."

He nodded his head. "I hope so."
