Adam's POV:
I finished showering before him. I could still hear the water running as I wandered down the stairs, and I chuckled as the running water didn't quite cover his humming of the tune 'we're walking on sunshine'.
I took this moment of time to myself as an opportunity to glance in the mirror, tousle my damp hair and take a breath mint (as I was aware I had forgotten to clean my teeth).
I'd taken out my sleeping bag and found a pillow by the time he had finished. His hair was crazy messy and his shirt was buttoned up the wrong holes. His face was dewy and his eyes shone with a fresh glint as he turned towards the light.
"Where should I set this up?" He vigorously shook his sleeping bag until the caterpillar like contents sprawled out onto the floor. The bag had a cartoon car on the front and the faded words 'I'll drive away your nightmares'.
"Shit, this is my brother's," he muttered kicking the blue and orange bag. "Ugh."I pointed to a gap of floor space by the door. "Dump it over there, you can sleep on the couch." I then jerked my thumb over my shoulder to the chest. "Blankets in there."
I smiled."Cheers mate, I didn't want to sleep in that, gods know how many times he's wet himself."
Chase laughed a hearty, boyish laugh and went about finding a blanket.***
Chase's POV:
It was late, later than I'd anticipated us to stay up. I didn't think Adam was a 'stay up' kind of boy.
We'd been on our phones, messaging people and playing games or whatever we were doing. I was reading through a group chat with some of my friends - a chat that I missed the content of because I'd muted it (when they message at 3am with a racist meme about a black guy and an Asian hooker, it kind of pisses me off). It was all bullshit though, my bell headed friends and their stupid, tiny little minds. I was beginning to resent hanging out with them because I was sick of having to dumb down, and I was sick of looking stupid to others. I'd been enjoying hanging with Adam because he not only seemed genuine but he was intelligent, the kind that doesn't make you feel stupid but knows how to have a decent conversation. Plus, Adam had a weird sort of attractive vibe, something that made me want to be around him.
Maybe give him a hug.
Maybe smell his hair, the soft guava shampoo...
Feel his skin, just the bit on his neck between his jaw and cotton shirt...
Touch his lips, only the...
Woah. I thought, dragging myself back from the verge of sleep. What the fuck was that.
Sorry it's short! Haven't posted in a while, new one soon x
