Snow blasted his face as the Dragonborn made his way to the Throat of the World. A roar rang through the skies. The Dragonborn was on his way to fight a threat more dangerous than the World-Eater himself.

Paarthurnax.

It sounds weird, for Dovahkiin to be defending Skyrim from the leader of the Greybeards.

Paarthurnax had.. changed.

Who knows what happened? Well, the mighty dragon who once was the Dovahkiin's ally, had turned against him. And not just him- all of Skyrim.

He was wreaking havoc, to say the least. More and more dragons populated Skyrim. Dovahkiin wasn't sure how Paarthurnax did it, but he knew his old ally needed to be taken down.

He easily shot down the ice wraiths and frost trolls that got in his way and reached the peak of the mountain.

The moon was blocked by clouds, providing no light for him. Paarthurnax's silhouette could be seen, perched on his word wall, watching and admiring the chaos he had ensued.

Dovahkiin cast a candlelight spell, the small ball of light illuminating but 10 feet in front of him.

The light caught Paarthurnax's attention, alerting him of the Dragonborn's presence. The dovah turned his head ever so slowly, his yellow eyes locking on Dovahkiin.

"Dovahkiin. Ful hi bo." His booming voice rang through the night sky.

Dovahkiin gripped onto his bow. "I'm here to end your reign of terror, beast."

"Hi los, los hi? Dein hahnu, Dovahkiin." He replied, approaching the Dragonborn. His steps seemed to shake the mountain they stood on.

"I won't have to." Dovahkiin growled, drawing an ebony arrow into his bow.

Paarthurnax let out a mighty roar and took to the skies. Dovahkiin let an arrow fly, to no avail. Paarthurnax's laugh seemed to taunt him.

"Hey, dovah?" Dovahkiin yelled in a cocky voice. "Remember the shout you taught me?"

He took a deep breath, looking into Paarthurnax's eyes.

"JOOR ZAH FRUL!"

The mighty dragon snarled frustratedly, as dragonrend pulled him down.

His paws hit the ground, and with immeasurable power, he attacked Dovahkiin.

"YOL TOOR SHUL!" He shouted, fire escaping his mighty jaws.

Dovahkiin threw his shield forward, though it barely blocked the attack.

He didn't want to admit it, but he did need assistance.

"OD AH VIING!" He shouted, as Paarthurnax took to the skies once more.

The familiar red dragon flew in from the north, diving straight for Paarthurnax.

Fire lit up the night sky, allowing Dovahkiin to see what was happening. Tooth and nail flashed as the dovahs tore each other apart. Crimson blood stained the snow as it rained from the sky.

Darkness returned and Dovahkiin struggled to see the action. All he saw was a dragon's silhouette as it fell to the ground below.

"Odahviing!" Dovahkiin called. "We've won!"

Only, it wasn't Odahviing. Paarthurnax's laugh echoed through the sky.

"No.." Dovahkiin whispered. Odahviing had fallen. It was just him and Paarthurnax now.

Using dragonrend once more, Paarthurnax descended.

Dovahkiin let a flurry of arrows fly from his bow, hitting the dovah dead on. Blood stained his white hide as he spread his wings to take off once more.

Dovahkiin, though, had no more energy. Which meant no more dragonrend.

So with the strength he had left, he jumped onto the dovah's back. Paarthurnax roared in anger, flying up, as high as he could.

Dovahkiin drew his great sword, holding it above his head and shouted: "Hi gruth zu'u med Alduin orey hi. Hi fent mah! Dir, dovah!"

He plunged the blade of his sword into the dragon, earning a roar of pain.

"Hi kron, Dovahkiin." Paarthurnax whispered.

His wings stop beating and he fell limp.

Clearly Dovahkiin hadn't thought this through.

The dovah's dissipating body and Dovahkiin began to fall full-speed to the ground.

Dovahkiin watched dragons fly out of sight, away from Skyrim, their leader was dead, and they were free from his influence.

The main threat of their world was gone.

But.. the Dragonborn would be too.

And with a sickening crunch, the Dragonborn hit the ground.

He was dead.

A great hero had fallen, but Skyrim was safe.
