That next morning the mortals and vampires began to split apart like they normally would, but I had to admit, having the mortals and vampires together felt nice compared to the constant feud the vampires and mortals would have over the land. Of course the mortals were the only ones to thank Scarlet and I for helping them in the weird storm, the vampires on the other hand, split into their natural tribes and groups and headed off to see what had become of their territory.
"Thank you for helping us..." Crystal's mother said, putting a kind hand on my shoulder.
"It wasn't my idea..." I reply, moving her hand away. "But your welcome."
"No, we really mean it." The woman said, thankfulness full in her hazel eyes. "we owe you one young vampire." She said kindly before grabbing her daughter's hand gently and walking away. Crystal turned around to look at me for a moment, slightly waving goodbye. I waved back, feeling a slight smile emerge on my face before feeling a presence behind me.
"Are you ready to go?" I hear Scarlet's voice ring into my ears and I turn to face my half blind friend.
"Yeah... I guess." I reply and Scarlet smiles warmly at me before turning around to leave. I follow Scarlet back to the camp, it seemed deserted compared to the rest of the wilderness around us. I stood in front of the ruined dome like structure, staring in horror at how the fire had destroyed everything in its path.
"Well, let's get to rebuilding." Scarlet said, bending over to grab some brambles who, for some odd reason, weren't touched by flames. She turned to me and glared. "Come on..." She hinted, pushing me towards the remaining wilderness. "Go get some firewood will ya? I'll start building." She finishes, giving me a friendly smile. I obey and walk away towards the lush wilderness that was left from the storm.
I walk through the forest, picking up stray sticks and twigs on my way. I looked around and spotted the village I had passed before, in front of the entrance I saw Crystal walking around another girl and holding a wooden sword. I cocked an eyebrow, curiosity taking over me as I crept forward, forgetting about my first task. I quickly ducked behind a small bush for cover so the two mortal girls couldn't see me, and soon I could get a good picture of the other girl. She had brown hair so dark it looked black and it was cut at her chin, about the same length as Crystal's, which was cut at the jawline. Both mortal girls seemed to be wearing brown leather cut boots that went up to about their knees, and shaggy brown soldier pants. I watched as Crystal took out her wooden sword from a leather sheath.
"Are you sure you're up for this battle?" Crystal asked in a fake British accent.
"I am sure fire sure my good lady." The other girl replied with a mischievous smirk on her face, her own wooden sword pointed at Crystal with a fierce extension. I watched the two girls with amusement as they continued to circle each other in their small 'game.'
"Take THIS!" Crystal spat out fiercely, lunging for the other girl. The girl ducked, moving away from Crystal's wooden blade with great agility, creating a counter attack. Crystal quickly dodged the fake blade, almost as if she dancing. I couldn't help but let out a small chuckle of amusement. Once I couldn't take the constant dodging anymore I stepped out from my hiding place in the bushes, waving kindly to Crystal.
"Hello dear soldiers." I say kindly, bowing as if I was in the presence of the queen herself.
"Uh... hello again." Crystal greeted kindly, flickering her eyes uneasily from her friend to me. Her friend seemed pale and nervous as she took a step away from me.
"This is Ivy." Crystal introduced after an awkward moment of silence passed between the three of us. I waved kindly to Ivy.
"Pleased to meet you..." Ivy said nervously as she shook my hand lightly.
