Soon after the battle was over and I had come out of hiding, everyone started heading back towards camp to rest. Most of us had been injured, even me, cuts and bruises and burns crept up all of the camp's inhabitant's sides and faces. I pushed away my own pain as I began to enter the camp, seeing some of the trained nurses we had recruited rushing to all of our fighter's aid. Hiding my wounds physically was a breeze, especially since I had done it countless times before. I allowed myself to rest as I sat on a log that retraced the camp's circular shape from the inside.

Smoke streamed slowly and weakly from the back of the camp where a fire had been put out only moments before. I guessed that the fire from the training court had spread up to the camp, which surprised me a great deal. If the mortals could create a wildfire as strong as the last one, or stronger, that could result to a lot of losses in Scarlet's newly made tribe.

"I can't wait to sink my fangs into those dang mortals!" I heard Chris growl from his place at camp. He was getting his arm wrapped in a gauze from a deep blade wound.

"That is the most stupid thing I've heard come out of your mouth!" I yell in hostile response as I glare coldly at the young trainee. I could see his anger grow in his deep brown red eyes, seemingly glowing like fire in rage as he comprehended what I was saying. "trying to drink a mortal's blood is like trying to only take one sip of whisky!" I finish in a new growling tone, struggling to push my rage in my stomach.

"You wanna bet?" Chris asked, returning my hostile tone with a thick growl and hiss, showing his now yellow teeth from lack of hygiene.

"Chris... calm down..." A new voice spoke. I glanced to see May walking up to her brother with a gentle hand slowly laying on his shoulder. Surprisingly her presence calmed me as well, as if her voice were a soothing melody. "What he means is that once you drink... It's hard to stop." She says lightly, her face reading nothing but honesty as she spoke. Her words were true. I had gotten my blood addiction early in my childhood, when I first tasted human blood my thirst grew, and the more I drank, the more I yearned for the taste. I knew May was the same as I was, we both had developed a blood addiction, except May was fighting to ease hers away, while I used mine as a second soul weapon. I nod to May in an understanding way and she smiles lightly in return.

Not even thinking about checking back on Chris or the rest of the camp, I made my way to Scarlet, who stood glaring at the horizon beyond the mortal village, Ferren beside her.

"This world is getting even more depressing by the minute." Scarlet sighed in frustration as I made my way towards the two vampires.

"What do you propose we do?" The older vampire beside her, Ferren, said in a calm, cool tone. He seemed to have an appearance of a regular mortal. His ginger red hair like fire atop a pale head, he was tall and had pale freckles over his nose and cheeks, and had deep green eyes. His mortal like appearance would be perfect for an undercover mission, if it weren't for the dead giveaway of his eyes. His eyes as I said, were a deep forest like green, but his pupils seemed like those of a serpent. They were dark green slits that seemed to hypnotize you on sight, or at least that's how I picture them.

"We lay low..." Scarlet answers. "We'll wait for them to make the first move." She finishes with a hypnotic tone in her voice. "But we'll need more enforcements..." She said then turned to look at me.

"What do you want me to do?" I asked, standing straight and tall as if I were in the army, and technically, I was. I looked from Ferren to Scarlet, awaiting what my old friends orders would be for me.

"Can you help me with new ranks?" Scarlet finally asked. "We'll need to split the graduating trainees into new groups so they can practice a new profession." She explained and Ferren and I nodded in agreement. We decided on two new ranks for the trainees, spotters and hunters. All of the trainees that had graduated, and survived the battle that had occurred that afternoon, were split into these groups that Scarlet had assigned them. May earned the rank as one of the spotters, who would watch out for any intruders overnight or in the day. Chris had earned the rank of a warrior, as Scarlet and I were trained. Ferren on the other hand, earned the rank of a hunter for his excellent stealth and footing patterns. Soon enough he chose to teach Sara into becoming the heir to his success into becoming the next lead hunter.
