You've had a crush on your best friend Jughead since you were about thirteen years old. His topaz eyes and raven hair had sent you spiraling past the world of friendship and into a completely new zone. You were around him almost 24/7 and he never seemed to show any interest in you, or any girls for that matter. You had always thought he had a thing for your other friend Betty but recently you had asked him about that and he had said he never felt anything past friendship with her. At least that made you feel better, he never lied to you so you knew you could believe him.

"Oh come on (y/n), I'm sure Jughead likes you too!" Your friend Veronica assured you as you were standing around your locker, preparing to go to English class.

You sighed, "V be real. Wasn't it you who said "the people we like normally don't like us back?" or something?" You asked her smugly.

She huffed, "well yeah but that wasn't about you! You and Jughead, you guys are just soooooo perfect! B agree with me here," turning to Betty who was just smiling away.

"What?" You asked them as V started smiling as well. They were looking past you, off into the distance.

"I see a certain someone who can't keep his eyes off you," Betty said happily as she gestured to a corner in the hallway, right where Jughead was standing. As soon as his eyes met yours he looked away.

"H-he was probably just looking at Betty or something," you said, closing your locker rather harshly and hurrying off to class.

You sat down at your desk and began to get your homework out. Jughead arrived soon after you and took the desk next to you, as he usually did.

"Hey bean," he said as he placed his things down as well. Jug had called you bean as long as you could remember. It was because as a kid you were always smaller than everyone else, small as a bean. Earning you your nickname that had long since faded from Archie's vocabulary and Betty's, but not Jughead's.

"Hey, you alright? You seem...off," it was always easy to tell when he was unhappy. He tried to hide it and he did it pretty well, he could usually fool others, but not you.

"Nah I'm fine," he sighed, you knew he was lying.

About halfway through class Jughead began doodling on a piece of paper which was highly unusual in English class, his favorite class. Then he began ripping up the paper and shoving it in his desk.

Finally once the teacher stopped talking you got a chance to talk to Jug. "Okay really, what is it? Something's really bothering you."

"It's nothing, I already told you," he laughed the slightest bit.

"Jug...?" You smiled lightly.

"It's just," he placed the end of his pencil on his paper and bounced it up and down, almost like a nervous twitch. "The girl that I like," your heart sank, "she would never like me back. The worst part is I think I just might be in love with her." You could feel the tears forming in your eyes. You tried to hide it the best you could but they began to slip out.

"(y/n)? What is it? Are you okay?" He was getting extremely worried.

"No Juggie, no I'm not okay," you got up and walked out of the classroom. You didn't care who saw you, you just had to get out of there. As you busted into the hallway, walking quickly to well, wherever, you heard another door open and close and the your name being called.

"(y/n)! Wait (y/n)!" Jughead called out, you could hear him running towards you. You began to walk faster but he caught up. He grabbed your arm and turned you around, seeing the tears streaming down your face.

"What the hell (y/n)? Why are you crying? What did I do?" You could see the worry and the fear in his eyes.

"I'm sorry Juggie but I just can't take it anymore!" You jerked your arm out of his hold and walked away. Again, he soon caught up.

"Take what? Was it what I said about the girl back there?" You turned around, you were going to have to confess.

"Yeah, it was, Jug I-"

"Wait does that mean you like me?" Your heart skipped a beat, it was all over now.

All you could do was nod, he smiled before stepping closer. "(y/n) did it ever cross your mind that the girl I was talking about was you?" You felt like your legs were going to give out.

"N-" he held your face in his hands and kissed you, it took you by surprise but you kissed him back to which you could feel him smile. His lips fit so perfectly with yours, you wished you had got to do this sooner.

He pulled away lightly and smiled at you, "I've always wanted to do that."
