Chapter One - The Beginning

Mugman and I had finally finished the devil's wishes. We left Hell as soon as we could. To celebrate, Mug and I went to a restaurant, since we haven't rested in many, many years.

Our waitress was cute, I guess. She was a blue dragon with small ears, tiny wings, and a large tail. She walked over to our table with her notepad and asked us, "Hi! My name is Dare and I will be your waitress for today. What would you like to drink?"

I looked at Mug and teased, "I swear, if you get any alcohol..." Mug laughed and shook his head in disbelief. "Cup, I am of age for alcohol. I will get any drink I want." He turns to the waitress and, with a cheeky side look casted towards me, said, "I would like some beer please."

She smiled and jotted down his order. Turning to me, she asked, "And you, sir? what would you like to order for you drink?" I replied, "I just want a glass of water, thank you." 

She wrote my order down, placed her pen in her pocket in her uniform, and nodded her head towards us. "I will be back with your drinks shortly."

I turned to Mug and smiled while shaking my head. "Wow Mug. You are quite the rebellious type, aren't you?" He gave me a wink and grinned. "It's not just a phase, mom."

I threw back my head and laughed. My hair moved in front of my eyes, so I couldn't see how Mug reacted. It had been a while since I have laughed with this much joy. During our "missions", we had no time to enjoy life as it was. We were constantly on the move and didn't have time to sit and joke around. Our life was in constant danger and one of us could have died during the missions. With these thoughts in mind, my laughter ceased and I sighed.

"Mug," I started. "What does our future exactly hold for us? I mean, for 5 years we have done HIS commands. Now that we are of age to get jobs, do we just settle down or something?" My brother just gave me a blank look with his bright blue eyes. A few minutes later, he closed his eyes and sighed.

"I don't know, bro. I haven't though of those. But, all I can say is that we aren't the ones to settle down and have a boring life. No, I am hoping we will live life to the fullest. Besides, how many people do you see that have cups for heads?"

I smiled and grabbed his hand. I squeezed it and replied, "Thanks bro. That actually helped me soothe my worries. Now, where are our drinks?"

Right then, the dragon came to our table, balancing a tray of two glasses on her hand. She placed the tray on our table and said each drink as she picked them up and placed them in front of each of us. 

"The beer?"

"Right here."

"The water?"

"Here."

She once again took out her notepad and pen and asked, "Okay gentlemen, are you ready to order?"

My eyes widen and I blushed in embarrassment. "Um, we haven't looked at our menus at all."

Dare chuckled and replied, "That's alright. I will be back in a few minutes to let you order."

She walked from our table. I groaned in annoyance and picked up my menu. Mug smirked at me from his side of the table.  "Forgot, eh?" I scowled at him. "You forgot also, you hypocrite." He gave me a closed-eye smile. "I know."

I opened my mouth to retort back but closed it because no matter what, he will always have a comeback. Scowling, I looked back at the menu to order. I scanned the options until I found one I wanted. The waitress came back to our table, smiling.  "Now are you ready?"

Mug nodded and ordered, "I would like the cheeseburger with fries on the side please." She nodded and wrote on her little notepad. She turned to me and waited for me to order. "I would like the ravioli with marinara sauce."

After she finished jotting down our orders, Dare gave us a smile and said, "Your orders will be out in about 10 minutes." She left our table and I turned to Mug, wanting to have a light conversation with him, seeing as we haven't had one in 5 years.
