Cuphead
As Mug and I chatted and laughed with each other, our waitress came back with our food. I laughed at Mug when His eyes started bulging at the sight of his burger.
"Alright gentlemen, who ordered the burger?"
Mug eagerly raised his hand and she placed his plate in front of him. His eyes followed the plate's movement like a hungry wolf looking at its prey. He had a feral glint in his eye.
Dare then turned to me with the other plate of food in her hand and asked, "I guess you ordered the ravioli?" Unlike Mug, I calmly confirmed her question. She placed my ravioli bowl in front of me and gave her a smile.
"Enjoy your food."
Mug automatically grabbed his burger and started tearing into it. He tore pieces of the burger with his teeth and swallowed them, not even chewing. My eyes widened and I exclaimed, "WOAH! Take it easy Mug! Your food isn't going to walk away!"
He sheepishly smiled and returned to eating his food, but a bit more slowly. I shook my head and started to eat my ravioli.

We exited the restaurant and walked down the sidewalk. It was night and the stars were out, shining like diamonds. The city was quiet, the atmosphere held a peaceful mood, and there were few people strolling. As I watched on with fondness, a little kitty in a cute pink dress was skipping happily in between her two parents, a cat and a dog. A turtle was sweeping in front of a small building, which I presumed was his shop. I turned to mug and saw that he was also watching. He had a soft smile and his bright eyes shining with happiness. Believe it or not, we loved children. They were sweet and innocent and held everlasting happiness. I looked back towards to city with the lights dimmed.
"Hey Cup?"
I looked back at my brother. "Yeah Mug?"
Mug looked at me curiosity burning in his eyes. "Where are we going to sleep tonight?"
I blinked in surprise. I hadn't thought of that. "Well, I guess we'll find a hotel or something. We still have a bit of money left."
He sighed in sadness. "Oh." Looking at me once again, he eagerly asked, "Can we go to the countryside right now to star gaze?"
I closed my eyes and smiled fondly. "Alright, let's go."
We strolled past the dark buildings and alleys and came to an empty grassy hill. Arriving at the peak, I laid down with Mugs doing the same right beside me. "The stars are really pretty tonight," Mugs dreamily commented.
I agreed. "Yeah, it's not often we get to do this."
I closed my eyes and began to doze off. I heard my brother yawn and felt him settle down on my side. I reached out and pulled him closer to me. He laid his head on my chest and wrapped an arm around me. I felt myself being lulled into sleep and I didn't resist anymore.
(The Doctor is mad that I am using his wibbly-wobbly-timey-wimey to make time skips. He can deal with it)
"Well well, look what we have here."
I jolted awake and looked back and forth to find the source of the painfully familiar voice. Mug stirred next to me. "Cups, where are we?" he asked sleepily.
"Why, you are back here, in my place."
He shot up and looked at me with terror and panic in his eyes. He whimpered and tightened his already tight hold on my waist. I stood up and shouted angrily, "What do you want?! We already did your demands!"
A tall figure came lumbering towards us. I shrunk back in nervousness and also tightened my hold on Mugs. An ugly black face loomed over us, with pure evil in his eyes and with a sickening grin.
The Devil.
"Now now, is that any way to greet your old boss?" he mockingly asked with the same grin plastered on his face.
I growled in anger. "I repeat, what do you want from us?!"
He smirked and leaned very closely towards us. The lava around us shot geysers into the air around him. "Your souls are still in my hands, you know..."
My eyes widened in shock. "That's not true!"
"Oh it is very true, Cuphead."
Mugman, who was quiet this whole time, spoke up with fear laced in his voice. "W-we already d-did your bid-dding."
The Devil shook his finger at us. "Ah, but it doesn't make any difference to the chain I have on your souls. Now, here is my new bidding. Listen closely."
He told us about the ink illness we have agreed to spread around if one of us doesn't die. He told us about two adventurers who have a map to find the pieces for the Ink Machine, a machine that can cure the illness.
"Go find and kill them. Bring back their heads and I shall release you. If not, once again one of you dies."
As I blinked, we were back on the hill we slept on the night before. Mugs was shaking next to me. "I don't want to kill anymore, Cup. I just don't want to."
I sighed in despair. "We have no choice, Muggy. I refuse to let you die. Besides, we don't even know who these people are."
He closed his eyes and let a tear drop. "Yeah, you're right. Let's find these people as soon as possible so we can get this over with."
I started walking down the hill with Mugman close behind. The town didn't seem as lovely anymore. What was I thinking? It wasn't beautiful in the first place. We headed towards the entrance of the town. As we exited, I looked back at the sign that was at the entrance.
'Welcome to Williamsberg'
Mug and I walked. And walked. And walked. We past different towns in search of our targets, observing each person that we pass by and listening to each conversation we hear. I thought we were never going to find them.
Toons Town. The city of the rich. We had arrived just a few hours ago and were resting our bodies from walking. We have been searching for weeks since the incident, despair growing in the both of us. A bench in the park was our resting place and we sat there, looking at all the people bustling around. As we watched, two toons walked past us, side by side. One was a short demon, with spiked-up hair and traveler's clothes. He also held a bag that hung from his shoulder and wore goggles on top of his head. The other was a wolf, with a handkerchief wrapped around his neck and the same clothes as the demon, except he had shorts. They appeared to have been in deep conversation. Mug had pulled on my arm and whispered, "I heard them talking about the ink machine, Cups! I think they are the ones..."
Deciding to trail them, I motioned to him to follow me. We walked calmly behind the two and listened to their conversation.
"Boris, I said to calm down. We will find the machine."
"But Bendy, what if we don't find it in time to cure you? I don't want to lose you."
"It'll be alright. You'll have to continue on your own. But I refuse to leave you alone. We will find it and we will do it together."
My heart ached with compassion. This is why I hated the Devil. He had no care for innocent souls and doesn't pay any mind to courage and love.
They walked into an alleyway. We cornered them and tried to kill them on sight, but they escaped us. In a way, I was happy we didn't kill them. It meant that they had more time to live and for us to chase them. I sighed in anticipation. If it meant that we had more time to be free from the Devil, I was going to let them live. I refused to be a slave to him.
This was going to be a long adventure.
