Chapter 18

Rhett sat next to me on the bed trying to find a movie to watch. My phone went off. Usually when I'm watching a movie or doing something with Rhett, I don't like to read texts. But Rhett was picking a movie so I decided to read it. I picked it up and it had said Christy sent me a picture. As I opened it I couldn't believe what I saw... Rhett was at the coffee shop sitting really close to Jessie and kissing her. 'He fucking lied to me!' I thought. My thoughts were screaming and racing through my head. I could feel my whole body on fire and I felt like I wanted to throw up. Rhett said something that I couldn't hear through my thoughts racing so much. I got up and headed for the door. I stopped halfway through when I heard Rhett call my name. "I can explain!" He told me. 'Explain the fact you lied to me? Okay Rhett.' I thought. A rush of anger came through me.

"Explain what Rhett? How you lied to me? Don't you ever come near me again! I thought you actually loved me Rhett! I trusted you!" I tried holding back tears that were streaming down my face. I didn't even want to look at him. "I'm leaving... And I'm not coming back..." I mumbled wiping tears as I left. I got into my vehicle and started it. As I drove away, I seen Rhett look out the window with tears in his eyes. 'I've never seen Rhett cry before' I sobbed even more at the thought of Rhett crying and leaving him in pain.

I went to hotel across town and rented a room. Then I had texted Rhett.

'Look, we don't need to talk to each other, but we need to continue GMM for the Mythical Beasts. We'll act like nothing is wrong.' As soon as I sent it he started typing.

'I understand... Can we at least talk this through though? Please? It's all a misunderstanding.' I turned my phone off and watched a TV show until I fell asleep.

The next morning I put my glasses on and turned on my phone. While I was waiting for my phone to turn on I got ready. "Purple... Blue... Green... Yellow... Let's go with this one!" I said aloud picking out a shirt.

After getting my pants, socks and shoes, I looked at my phone.

'Two missed calls from Rhett' I then scrolled down to the text messages.

'Link, it's not my fault, Jessie leaned in and Christy took a picture... Please Link...' I grabbed my keys and walked out of the hotel room.

After the crew left Rhett stopped me at the door.

"Link, please listen to me. It wasn't my fault. I didn't mean..." Rhett started crying as he looked away. I've never seen Rhett cry before... Suddenly Rhett picked up a cup and threw it across the room. "They want the fame! It's always been that! They want to tare us apart!" Rhett screamed throwing another cup across the room. He picked up the mic.

"Rhett stop!" I yelled grabbing his hand. He looked at me, anger and hatred on his face. I let go of his arm and backed up slowly into a corner and crouched down, putting my head between my knees. I heard Rhett walking towards me...
