I woke up to the sound of my ringing alarm. I lazily turned it off remembering I had to wake up early to study. Its already been a week and the school work is already intense. Everything was just so hard, on top of not having my parents here..I think about them everyday. I want to them to see I've gone so far...

But I know they're looking down on me. A bitter smile came across my face as I reached for the pendant that resembled an iridescent, fragile, blue under-toned butterfly. The necklace I've worn longer than I could remember. Something I always had by my side, that I've never tooken off. I sighed drastically and sat up half asleep, quickly shaking the thought away, then going to the bathroom to get ready.

_

The moment I looked at the lesson my brain was d.e.a.d. Nothing was understandable. It was like I couldn't focus at all. Suddenly having that thought. The scene before my eyes yesterday. I'm so curious..and I have no idea why. What else did they do yesterday... does he do that everyday.. who are you? Is he..half..like I am? Hmm..definitely not.

I run my fingers through my hair, tapping my pencil to the thick math book. These instructions don't make any sense..I bit my lip in confusion. Basically, already giving up. I slouch in my chair, sighing once again. Looking up after someone passing by distracting me.

My eye's widened seeing the group of boys pass by. This was the closest I've ever been to them. They looked even better up close. But somehow, someone caught my eye, the guy. How did he just appear that quickly after just having the thought of him?

Of course, he's with another girl introducing her to them. Being louder than ever in a library, why isn't anyone complaining? Now I really can't focus. I forcefully look back down at my notes. Flinching hearing a loud bang at my table.

I look over at the piled notebooks next to me, slowly looking up at the person who had put them there. "Ehem... here's all of our homework, you better have all of these done by the end of the week. If you don't, I swear..you will end up like your worthless parents. Got it?", " But-". Before I could even say anything back, she walked away.

I have no idea who she is. Almost all royals treat me this way. All because of me being..half.

My mom wasn't even a official princess until my dad married her. Which my dad, he grew up as a prince and my mom, just a regular human being. This is what makes me not being able to fit in, why am I not treated like other royals..? Why do I have to be so..different? I don't even understand the damn lesson..what am I suppose to do?

I bang my head lightly to the wooden table. A headache instantly filling my senses. "Umm..Joy? What are you doing?" I look up hearing the one and only, Sana's voice. "Nothing. I'm just, I have even more work to do now and I don't even understand the lesson..", I said laying my head back on the table.

"yahh, They're still doing that to you?", she said looking at the extra math papers."You need to speak up for yourself. You need to show them you're not a pet. That you're just like us..", she stated as I looked up at her as she crossed her arms. I sigh. "You know I can't do that. They keep threatening me, you don't know what they're capable of. I'm not taking that risk. I just can't Sana."

There was a moment of silence. Sana was always worrying for me. She was always a true friend. She knows everything I go through. But she just doesn't understand my thoughts, or what people can get away with. Especially, if I'm just half, no one will care. Sana, she will never go through this because both of her parents grew up in a royal heritage. We've been friends ever since..we were basically in diapers, heh..

This is why we're so close. She knows everything about me, and I know everything about her. I'm so lucky to have her by my side, even when nobody else was. I smile, I couldn't be mad at her. She tries her best to give me company. "hey...why are you smiling this is serious!", she shouted. But only to get shushed by the others who were studying at the near by tables, not so far way.

I couldn't help but to silently laugh. She gave me a death glare. Yet, before we could talk further, the bell had rang. " Well bye Sana gotta go!", I said grabbing all of my work and shifting my backpack strap onto my left shoulder. I waved at her as she forcefully waved back knowing she couldn't be mad anymore.

I ended up blending into the crowd of people that were also exiting the now- noisy library. The more and more I walk, it seemed the hall began to get more packed. I look up at the ticking clock on one of the classroom doors. Aish, I'm going to be late. I started to think of another path to get to my next class. The only way is to turn back around. Well, I guess I should do so.

I switched my path, going the opposite way everyone else was going. Storming through the now- emptying hall. I finally went pass the library and passing by the janitors closet. Then, ending up at the exit. I haven't been outside of the castle for awhile now. Though, it was always too much of a risk to go outside the closed doors.

Imagining if I have gotten caught, it would be on my record. 3 strikes, everything is gone. My royalty, my family...my identity. But, come to think of it, is it really so bad? Wouldn't it be better to be out in open air than being kept captive in a castle? I have no family except Sana, no one likes me here. Just the thought of all of this makes me angry and frustrated.

The bell rung once more as I shook off my thoughts and scurried to my next class. Still having the thought in the back of my head , including the fact I may get even more homework from other students. I'll just have to be prepared.

🌸To Be Continued
