I'm soooooo irresponsible I haven't worked on this in forever and when I opened it up all it said was "'Despacito"

Anyway... next chapter topic is, "Your Brother / Another Boy Defends Your Stutter"

Michael:
You were yet to drive yourself anywhere alone. Even as you had gotten the license that allowed you to drive a car without another licensed driver present, you were hesitant to do so. You often relied on your passenger, usually Michael, for advice regarding both navigation and just general driving. Plus, it was very comforting to be able to look over and see someone else there just in case something did go wrong.

Michael didn't see it that way, he thought that you were crazy. If you could drive yourself somewhere then why wouldn't you? He was just thoroughly puzzled as to why you would be the least bit hesitant on solo driving no matter how often you tried to explain it to him.

"Y/N! Can you do me a favor and go get another bag of flour from the store? I would but I'm in the middle of something," Michael called out to you from the kitchen. You sighed, this would doubtlessly turn into a fight when you inevitably said no, and he said your reasons weren't good enough.

"I'd really rather not," you replied honestly. You stood from where you were laying on the floor and walked over to see what your brother was so engrossed in.

When you walked through the kitchen doors you were hit with the smell of cinnamon. It smelled warm and inviting like a cool winter night spent by the fire. Michael was standing there furiously mixing a bowl with a large wooden spoon. He was wearing a custom apron that featured a close-up of Ashton's face with the text, "BAM! STR8 IN THE PAN!", written across it in bright red comic sans font. Luke had gotten it for him as a joke and Michael had continually made excuses to wear it.

"Please? I told Ashton that my Cinnamon Nut Bread was zestier than his so we're having a bake off but buying flour just slipped my mind," he sighed, wiping his forehead and looking over at you tiredly. You had a lot of questions about what he had just said, mainly because you didn't know that he or Ashton knew how to make cinnamon nut bread, nor that it was all that "zesty". You'd never really thought of bread as zesty before.

But more importantly, you wanted to help Michael just not in a way that would require you to drive alone.

"I can stir this for you while you go get it," you tried to make a compromise.

Michael shook his head, "the bet was that I made my bread all by myself. It would be cheating for you to help stir it." You frowned. They were really taking this competition seriously.

"Well I don't really want to go out. Plus that would be helping," you pointed out with a sassy shrug. You tried to act nonchalant but your heart rate was slowly increasing. You didn't like where this was going.

"You aren't helping directly so it doesn't count. Please Y/N, I'll give you thirty bucks and you can spend it all as long as you get the flour," Michael pouted before measuring out some more nutmeg and sprinkling it onto the mixture in the bowl.

You were more conflicted than ever. A decent bag of flour wouldn't cost that much so you'd be making a decent amount of money, but you really didn't want to go.
