Chapter 3: Her Broken Heart

“I have to go to the office again tonight, dear.” Says my husband as he kisses me on my forehead. “What is going on at work that they need you at the office at ten O’clock at night. I mean you don’t ever sleep at night anymore. Its like you work at night and in the morning.”

“My dear sweet Maria, my work is getting a big opportunity and they need as many people as they can get to work round the clock. Dont you see, i’ll be getting a lot more money. Money to help with the new baby, a new house, everything you wanted. Just a couple more weeks and then it will all be done. Adam will be there too so i wont be that bored”

I node and walk him to the door. He gives me a kiss and walks to his car and leaves. I go and get ready for bed. Everything is so perfect at the moment. My husband loves his job, he loves me, were having our first baby, everything is working out the way i want it to be. Right before I’m about to go into the shower the phone rings, its my husbands, he forgot it, again. “Hello, Zac Anderson’s phone.” I say waiting for someone on the other end to answer. “Hey Maria, its me Adam, is your husband there?” Adam is my husbands best friend and coworker. “No. he’s not. He had to go to work.” I say. “Hedid? what for? I thought you two were having a date night tonight, thats why he couldn’t hang tonight.”

“He said he had something important to do. said you were with him also, At the office.”

“Oh okay. Well thanks bye.” He doesn't know it but he just go his best friend into a lot of trouble.

About two hours later I hear the car pull into the grudge, his home.”Hey honey how was work?” I ask. “Work was just fine. infact got a lot done.” His hair looks as if his hands have been pulling and tugging at it. “Well by the looks of your hair you must have been frustrated.” He shrugs his shoulders. “Oh and Adam called, said he was looking for you. dont worry i told him you were on your way to the office.” He smiles and tells me thank you. He walks over and gives me a kiss and that when I smell it, a girls cheap perfume is all over him. now I’m angry. “So what did you do at work?” He looks at me and says, “Its classified. But i can tell you i got alot done.” he smiles and starts to walk up stars.

The next day goes by like any ordinary day. He goes to work I stay home. I go and meet up with some of my friends for lunch and tell them what had happened last night.One of my friends suggested he was making a surprise for me. But my other friend, who i can always count on to tell the truth no matter how mean it is, tells me he might be having an affair. I mean it does sound pretty legit. Working late at night, sometimes even to like three in the morning. She suggested that I follow him the next time he has to go to work and I’m sure that will be tonight.

Zac stays home long enough for dinner and one episode of the Walking Dead then gets a call and he says he has to go back to work. “What time do you think  you’ll be home?” I ask. If he says in an hour i'll be happy. “I dont know. Honestly I’m gonna try and work as late as I can since I don’t have work tomorrow.” I nod “Well then I’m gonna go to the supermarket real quick because we need more milk.” He and I walk to our own cars and leave. he to word and i to the supermarket, but lets be honest I’m totally going to follow him. When he round the corner I stop my car and turn around to follow him. His destination is not work. In fact its an old run down trashy motel that apparently can't come up with an original name because they named the ‘The Bates Motel’, ridiculous. A woman greets him at the door. I am now enraged.

I look at the clock, its two in the morning. He got here at one. Its time to say hello.  I grab the gun I had stuck in my car before leaving the house. I walk over to room 27 the one they are in. I try to open the door but its locked. So I decide to kick it down. When I walk in, right next to my husband is my younger sister, sleeping with him. I cant believe she is who he is having an affair with! “Maria wait!” Says Victoria as I raise my gun to her. “You're sleeping with him!” I say jestering to Zac. “and you're sleeping with her.” I say to Zac pointing my gun to Victoria. Zac has scooted to the end of the bed, about to stand. Then I shoot him in both knees, so he doesn’t get up. I bring my gun back to Victoria, she is now holding her hand over her mouth crying. “LOOK AT ME!” i yell at her. “How could you do this to me? Why would you do this to me?” I yell at her. “I, I did it because i was tired of you always getting what you wanted. You got the husband you got the house, the job. You got everything.” I don't think i just shoot. Her blood splatters the bed and she lays there motionless. “Maria. please dont do anything else. You're already going to be in a lot of trouble. Just, just put the gun down.” I look at him. “Why? Why would you do this to me?” i ask. “ I did it out of stupidity. I’m terribly sorry. Please forgive me.” I walk out to the hall and scream. When I finally get a grip of what i have done i run. I run untill I’m back to the car, i get in and drive away far away. Not looking back just leaving.
