I walked with Harry, Hermione, and Ron to the bridge. From there, we went across it. They went over the hill where Malfoy was but I stayed.
I heard people behind me so I turned around. It was Harry and Hermione. I looked at them puzzled.
"But...." I looked down to where they were also.
"How?" I said.
"Time turner," Harry said.
"Can you help us," Hermione said.
We heard a snack and looked down at them. Malfoy was running up the hill. Hermione punched and that was the smack we heard.
"Guys, go across the bridge!" I told them.
When Malfoy came up this hill with Crabbe and Goyle, I smiled at him.
"Why are you smiling?" He said.
"Because you get two," I said.
"Two of what?" He asked. I slapped him across the face.
"I'll let you decide that. Wanna make it three?" I threatened.
He ran across the bridge and up to Hogwarts. I laughed at his cowardness.
I ran across the bridge and found Harry and Hermione.
"I can't go with you," I said. "I need to go with the other versions of you," I said. They looked at each other.
"Oh yeah! Brooke was with us at Hagrid's! Go ahead," Harry said.
I went down to Hagrid's and knocked on the door.
"Hagrid, it's me!" I said. He opened the door and had me come in.
"We'll stay with you!" Hermione said.
"You'll be doin no such thing! Do you think I wan you to see what is goin to happen to Beaky?" Hagrid said.
A pot all of a sudden smashed. I looked out the window.
"It's Malfoy and Fudge!" I said.
Hagrid had us go out the back door. We ran up to the stones and watched them talk. I split off from them and went to the Whomping Willow.
I went inside and saw my dad. He nodded at me and I ran back out as a dog. I sat patiently by the Willow.
Then I looked down at Hagrid's hut. They were outside. But Buckbeak wasn't there. The man cut open a giant pumpkin and that was it. I looked up at Hermione, Ron, and Harry. Hermione was crying into Ron's shoulder. The angle must have been different.
Scabbers then jumped out of Ron's hands. He caught him but ten I jumped and grabbed Ron's leg in my mouth. I drug him through the passage in the Willow. He was screaming. I felt terrible.
I drug him up to the top room and onto a broken couch. My dad was standing in the corner. Ron saw him.
I transformed back and then Ron yelled.
"You've been helping your dad get into the castle! You want to kill me! I thought I was your friend!" Ron cried out.
I didn't say anything because I heard Harry and Hermione coming up the stairs. I went a stood by my dad. Harry and Hermione walked into the bedroom.
"Harry! They're animagus!" Ron yelled and pointed at us. Hermione jumped in front of Harry.
"If you want to kill Harry, you will have to kill us too!" She exclaimed.
"Hermione, no-,"I began saying calmly but yet sternly.
"Only one will die tonight," My dad said.
"Then it'll be you!" Harry yelled. He pushed Hermione out of the way at this. He threw my dad on the ground and got out his wand.
"Harry!" I shouted, still sternly.
"Shut up Brooke!" He yelled at me. That was surprising, I have to admit.
"You can't talk to me that way," I murmured. My dad laughed.
"Are you going to kill me Harry?" He said smiling. The door all of a sudden burst open. I jumped backwards.
"Expelliarmus!" Lupin shouted at Harry. He gestured to Harry to get off of my dad. He ran over to Hermione. Lupin turned and looked at me, smiling. He looked back down at my dad.
"Well, well, Sirius. Looking rather raged, aren't we?" Lupin said, his wand pointed at my dad. "Finally the flesh reflects the madness within." My dad smiled at this.
"Well you would know all about the madness within, wouldn't you Remus?" He said. I chuckled at this. Lupin smiled and pulled my dad up into a hug.
"I found him. I found him," my dad was saying to Lupin.
     "I understand," Lupin responded.
"Let's kill him," I said to them. Hermione interrupted us.
"No! I trusted you! And all this time you've been his friend!" Hermione yelled at Lupin. She then glared at me. I looked away to escape her glare.
"He's a Werewolf! That's why he's been skipping class," Hermione said to Harry and Ron. Lupin stepped foreword. I saw the gears in his mind turning.
"How long have you known?" Lupin said, suspiciously.
"Since Professor Snape sent the essay," She told him.
"I told you that someone would find out," I replied back to Lupin. He ignored me.
"Well, well, well, Hermione. You really are the brightest witch of your age that I've ever met," Lupin began.
"Enough talk, Remus! Come on, let's kill him!" My dad shouted.
     "Wait!" Lupin stopped.
"I did my waiting. 12 years of it. IN AZKABAN!" My dad boomed. His eyes were bulging and he was shaking.
Lupin look supposedly at my dad, then at Harry.
"Alright then," Lupin agreed. He handed my dad his wand.
"But wait! Harry needs to know why," I exclaimed.
"I know why. He betrayed my parents," Harry began to say sadly. I rolled my eyes. "You're the reason they're dead!" He said looking at my dad.
"No Harry, he did not betray your parents. Somebody did but, until recently, I thought to be dead," Lupin explained. Harry was still burning with anger.
"Who was it then?" He yelled angerly.
"Peter Pettigrew," My dad and I said at the same time. We smiled at each other.
"And he's in this room! Right now," My dad continued. "Come out, come out, Peter! Come out and play!" He said wildly.
"Expelliarmus!" Snape burst into the room. Lupin's wand flew out of my dad's hand. Everybody was in shock.
"Vengeance is sweet. How I wished to be the one to catch you," He snarled at my dad, wand till aimed at him.
"Severus-" Lupin started but then Snape whipped around and point his wand at him. Lupin stood down.
"I told Dumbledore you were helping and old friend into a castle. And that you," He turned to me, wand pointed at me which I thought had to be braking some kind of rule because I was a student and he was a teacher.
"I warned him that you were helping your father in," Snape said.
"Brilliant. Once again you put your keen and impenetrable mind to the task, and as usual, come to the wrong conclusion," My dad bounced back at him. Snape stared coldly at him.
"Don't point a wand at my daughter ever again and excuse me, but Remus and I have some unfinished business to attend to," My dad continued. Snape reacted quickly. He put his wand up to my dad's throat.
"Give me a reason, I beg you," Snape said.
"Severus, don't be a fool," Lupin suggested kindly.
"He can't help it," My dad began.
     "Sirius be quiet!"
     "Be quiet yourself, Remus!"
"Be quiet both of you," I said.
"Look at you two. Querying like an old married couple," Snape taunted.
"Why don't you run along and play with your chemistry set?" My dad snapped back at him. This angered Snape a lot.
"I could do it you know?" He pushed his wand harder against my dad's neck. "Don't deny the dementors, they are so longing to see you," Snape gridded through his teeth.
"Do I detect a flicker of fear?" He said. "The dementor's kiss. One can only imagine what it's like to endure. I heard that it's unbearable to witness but I'll do my best. And you," He turned to me.
"Do you want to witness your father's soul being sucked out or do you want me to turn you into Dumbledore first?" He snarled at me.
"I make my own choices, I don't need my options told by you," I shot back at him. I saw Harry take Hermione's wand out of her pocket.
"Severus, please," Lupin pleaded. Snape ignored him again.
"After you," Snape said loudly at my dad. He then looked at the trio and nodded for them to follow. Harry stepped foreword. He aimed Hermione's wand at my dad. He flinched. Then Harry pointed it at Snape.
"Expelliarmus!" And with that, Snape jolted backwards onto the bed. I smiled.
"Harry!" Ron yelled.
"You attacked a teacher!" Hermione screeched.
"Tell me about Peter Pettigrew," Harry asked Lupin and my dad.
"He was at school with us. We thought he was our friend," Lupin said calmly.
"No, Pettigrew's dead. He killed him?" Harry turned the wand to my dad. Lupin jumped infront.
"That's what I thought, too, until you mentioned seeing Pettigrew on the map," Lupin replied.
"The map was lying."
"The map never lies," I said.
"Pettigrew's alive. And he's right there," My dad pointed at Scabber's in Ron's lap.
"Me? Are you bloody mad?" Ron said frightened. My dad got annoyed.
"Not you! Your rat!"
"Scabber's had been in my family for-"
"12 years! Unusual life span for a common garden rat. He's missing a toe, isn't he?"
"All they could find of Pettigrew was.." Harry began.
"His finger!" I shouted.
"Peter cut it of so that everyone would think he was dead! And then he transformed into a rat." My dad finished.
"Show me," Harry said. I walked over to Ron.
"Ron, give me Peter!" I said as I tried forcing him out of his hands. I eventually got him. I sat him down in the piano. He tried to run away but Lupin, my dad and I shot spells at him.
Right when he went through a small hole in the wall, Lupin shot a spell. The rat transformed into a small man.
Lupin and my dad pulled him out and pushed him on the floor.
"Sirius? Remus? My old friends!" He said then tried to run for it again. They caught him though. He looked at me.
"Brooke! You look just like your mother and father," He said. I glared at him.
"Don't you talk to my daughter!" My dad told him. Peter turned to Harry.
"Look at you Harry! You look just like your father!" He said.
"How dare you speak to Harry about James!" My dad said, pulling him away from Harry. "How dare you talk about him infront of Harry!"
"You sold James and Lily to Voldemort!" Lupin said angerly.
"I didn't mean to!" Peter squealed.
"The dark lord. You have no idea the weapons he possesses. Sirius. What would you have done? What would you have done?" Peter said. I stood there patiently and professionally. I knew what would happen next.
"I would have died. I would have died instead of betraying my friends!" My dad yelled. I smiled. I knew he would say that.
Peter ran under the the piano. Harry walked into the doorway preventing him to escape. Peter put himself on Harry.
"Dear boy! You won't let them kill me. Your dad. Your dad was a good man, he would show me mercy..." Lupin and my dad pulled Peter off of Harry. I was still smiling. We caught Peter.
"You should have realized, Peter. If Voldemort didn't kill you, then we would," I said as I raised my wand at Peter.
"Together," My dad said looking at me proudly.
"No!" Harry yelled. Everyone went silent and still. The shack was squeaking and swaying but otherwise, noting else moved, made a noise, or did anything. Lupin dropped his head in disappointment.
     "Harry, this man-"
"I know what he is. But we'll take him to the castle." I looked at Harry with wide eyes. Could he be serious right now?
"Bless you, dear boy, bless you," Peter said as he got down on his knees. He reached for Harry.
"Get off! I said we'll take you to the castle. The dementor's can have you then." I was proud of Harry for some reason.
I ran over and hugged my dad. "Thank you for everthing," he said. "I wanted to do it," I replied. We both got Ron and helped him walk. I hurt his leg badly.
"Sorry about the bite. I bet it twinges a bit," I appologized.
"A bit? A bit?! You nearly tore my leg off," Ron cried.
"I normally have a sweet disposition as dog. Infact, more than once James suggested that I keep the change permanent," My dad said,"the tails I could live with. The fleas," He looked at me.
     "They murder," I finished.
We all came out. We sat Ron on the ground, Hermione and I sat with him. Harry walked off with my dad. When they came back, Hermione yelled.
"Harry look!" She pointed at the sky; a full moon swam our of the clouds. I went white. Lupin looked at it then froze. My dad went and tried to help him.
Lupin threw my dad off fore he had completed his transformation of a werewolf.
