Chapter 5 Jinx

Oh my gosh I'm so sorry

It's fine just wake up... stupid

I opened my eyes to see a slighty annoyed pair of eyes staring down at me.

"Ill clean th-"

"No need ill have Jinx do it," he said the frown prominent on his face.

"But its my mess," I argued but he just waved me off and pointed in the direction of a mahogany door.

"That's the bathroom take a shower you reek of bile and human essence we'll talk later," he said.

Rude! Insensitive! Jerk!

I shot mental darts at him before stomping into the bathroom. How could someone be so mean? Isn't he suppose to be protecting me or something? What an asshole.

Throwing off the putrid smelling clothing into a straw basket I assumed to be the hamper and I slipped into the hot water. The tub was pretty big and the heat of the water was perfect. I threw my head back and began to engulf myself in the warm foamy bubbles around me.

Wait a minute.

Why is the bath tub full and warm?

The thought was enough to get me uncomfortable. Are there other people living here? Lucas did mention someone named Jinx. "Housekeeper maybe," I said softly sinking back into the tub.

"Housekeeper my ass," a random voice said.

I jumped up and covered my bare chest at the sound. "W-Who's there?" I craned my neck over the tub. The bathroom was empty.

"Its just me babe," the voice came up behind me. Slowly I turned around to see a smile on the wall. A very realistic smile then two silver eyes followed. I couldn't move and simply stared in horror as a face began coming out of the wall.

Lucas' POV

That girl is so weak. We have a lot to work on. I felt a smile twitch at the ends of my mouth as I stepped over the puke she left. I probably shouldn't have given her netherworld food. I needed Jinx to poof that mess to another dimension or something.

"Hey, Jinx," I called him out but I heard no response even though I felt his presence.Jinx was a distant relative and I guess my best friend. He calls himself a traveler but he sleeps, eats, and bathes here. Even though he's my friend he's not using my resources for free. Of course I put his magic to good use when necessary. Jinx is a wizard who best at spatial magic and teleportation. I usually have him "clean up" messes for me. Aka poof it to the nearest sanitation disposal. Unfortunately he wasn't here to do that for me today.

"Ill make sure to kill him for it," I mumbled grabbing another shirt since the one I was wearing reeked of that dumb girl's breakfast. Why do I need to take care over her? She's...

Lucas!

The mental shout was followed by a real audible one and I soon found myself bursting through the bathroom door.

Clarissa's POV

"JIINX YOU FACKING DUMBASS!!" I heard Lucas scream and his foot was launched  into the face of the creeper coming out of the wall and pushed him out to the other side. I heard a soft thud and looked up at Lucas who wore his typical pissed off expression. He looked down at me and looked away quickly. For a minute I think I saw him blush but I was dazed from the fright and steam so it was likely my imagination.

"Im sorry, he's an idiot ill make sure to properly kick his sorry ass for you."

Lucas didnt turn around instead he grabbed a the nearest towel and threw it in my direction.

"Dry off I'll bring you up some clothes."

With that he walked out. Never turning around.

I walked out of the bathroom dressed up comfortably. Lucas gave me a pair of black loosely fit jeans, and a long sleeve grey shirt I slid on the grey flats I came with and opened the door.

Mr.Creeper was standing next to Lucas. He held an apologetic face and looked down and started playing with the golden bangles on his arms when our eyes met. There was an awkward silence before Lucas cleared his throat.

"Im so sorry," I heard Mr. Creeper his voice was deep and muffled but I heard him clearly.

"I just wanted to see you. Lucas brought a cute mortal girl home and I wanted to see you but this tyrant wouldn't let me because you were sleeping," he frowned at Lucas.

"Im Jinx by the way it's a pleasure to meet a cutie like you," he grabbed my hand and smiled brightly and the bangles chimed as if to resonate with his feelings.

I blushed at the word the cute. Only my mom has ever called me cute. I looked over at Jinx. Minus the height since they were both tall he was the total opposite of Lucas with dark skin and golden brown eyes. His short black hair was a mess but it only enhanced his outward appearance.

"I see you're checking me out," Jinx said with a smirk. "Do you like me? I'd love to make someone as adorable as you mine," he got really close and his face was practically touching mines. He was about to move closer but Lucas stopped him.

"Jinx, back off."

And with that Jinx pulled back with a semi-satisfied grin and started for the door. Lucas looked at me for a second and followed Jinx. Confused I just stared at their backs until they stopped.

"Aren't you coming," Lucas asked in his typical pissed voice.

"Wait, where are you going," I called out.

"Breakfast, since you're body rejected what I gave you," Lucas' face softened a bit. "Sorry trying to making human food with nether realm ingredients isnt really my forte."

I walked up to him he actually apologized for the first time. That's sweet of him.

"It's oka-" before I could finish the word the thought came to my head.

Wait... Was that really yogurt???

I heard a slight chuckle come out him and I was about to say something.

"Guys lets go or I'm leaving you," Jinx wailed as he opened the exit.

"Bu-"

"He's right for once let's go," Lucas grabbed my arm and pretty much dragged me out the door.
