For the first time in a long time, I woke up by myself, and peacefully at that. I was in Ben's arms, he was still sleeping, so I just layed there thinking.

"What are you thinking about?" Ben asked, stroking my hair softly.

    "I thought you were sleeping."

    "I was."

    "Oh."

The door swung open and Chuck walked in with Richard carrying what looked like a cloth folded around something. Ben and I stood up, watching their movements.

Chuck looked emotionless and it was hard to think this was the same guy that greeted me and gave me coffee every morning.

Richard looked like a mix between a villain and a kid on Christmas. He looked somewhat like he was trying to contain his excitement, almost as if he felt he shouldn't be this happy about what was about to happen.

Chuck set the cloth down and unfolded it to reveal a sparkly set of knives and blades. I tensed up and felt Ben's arms tighten around me. Richard walked over to the blades and picked one up.

"Who wants to go first?" he asked, looking at each of us, "I'm just kidding... we're only dealing with Ashley today."

"What are you doing Richard?" Ben asked, moving to stand in front of me.

"Ruining your life the way you ruined mine." he responded

"What are you talking about Richard?"

    "Cindy?"

"That wasn't my fault!" Ben said, taking a few steps forward.

"So she was out there for no reason?"

"No, she was out there for me, but there was nothing I could have done. I'm sorry, what more can I do?"

"You can't do anything. I'm killing your girlfriend and you're going to watch me."

"No. No Richard please don't. Richard please I'll do anything."

"Can you bring her back to life?"

    "No."

"Then there's nothing you can do."

"Richard please, there's nothing I could have done to prevent her getting attacked by that animal."

"You could have stayed inside, like we told you, instead, your parents and my wife ended up chased by a rabid animal and killed."

"Richard I'm sorry. Don't do this."

Richard started moving towards me and soon everything was black.
