Legend Of The Eternal Dragon

Chapter Six

     We all sat on the ground, exhausted. No one spoke, in fact, it was silent. It was almost as if even the forest itself was speechless. I spoke up a few minutes later.

     "A-are you ok ma'am?" She nodded, brushing the dirt off of her clothes. I look around, making sure everyone is okay, relieved to see that everyone was in good health.

     "Do you need help getting home?" The woman shakes her head, getting up

      "I-I have some errands to run, anyways. Thank you all!" She ran off, and we all just sat there for a while before Rocky spoke up this time.

     "So uhmmmm, anyone else hungry after that??" I nodded in agreement, ready to eat just about anything. Once we had taken care of burying the bodies and other related things, we took off into the village, Scarlet flying overhead, earning a few concerned looks from the citizens and guards. We arrived at the local inn, taking a seat at the nearest table. One man looked up at me.

      "Hey, aren't you the new dragon tamer?" I smiled, telling him that I was, and thanked him for noticing. "Ahh, no problem, I'm just good at remembering faces!"

I talked to him for a little longer, before the waitress showed up. We placed our orders, and then I remembered.

      "And uhm... I'll take the largest uncooked piece of meat you have." She gave me a look that told me that my request sounded idiotic to say the least, but she soon wrote it down, walking off. We made jokes and talked for quite a while, when Urabe gave me a serious look.

      "So, i hate to say it, but our missions are getting harder and harder. I think recruiting someone into our group might be a good idea." I processed the idea she had given me. She was right. At this rate, we'd be dead meat in no time. It was time to start recruiting.

     "Good point. Once we get out of here, we'll start looking." She gave us her usual smile that was bright enough to melt even the coldest of smiles, causing the rest of us to do the same. The food arrived, and we all ate together happily.

Little did we know, that happiness​ wouldn't last long.

A/N

Phew, It feels good to be back. I decided since I was gone for so long, that I'd treat those who either begin reading, or continue after so long with a big plot point coming up next chapter. Im starting it now, but i will be busy later today(cuz its 4 am rn) so be expecting it today or tomorrow!
