Chapter Five- Steps

(Bryce's point of view)

A sough left my lips as I brought the tea cup closer to my lips. I closed my eyes as I took a sip out of the green tea. The dream is still fresh and clear in my mind and I have a feeling that something really awful will happen. Not only to I but to Evan as well. I gazed at the hem of my shirt as the feeling is getting higher. I slightly quiver and brought my legs up to my chest, my arms instantly wrapping around it.

The house is horrendously silent and the only source of sound is the deep breaths I let out and the muffled sound of the neighbors' children playing. They're twelve like Evan and I and I know some of you might tell me that I should go out and play with them but.. something is keeping me from going outside.

I felt like I shouldn't leave the house till Evan or Mom and Dad comes home. I just felt like it..

I forgot to say a few minutes ago, after my mom calmed me down, her boss called her in for urgent matters and my mom couldn't miss it so she made me green tea and cookies then left with a kiss on my forehead.

It was really quiet in the house and I couldn't handle the creepy feeling and stood up, making my way towards the stairs.

As I took a step at the stairs and another one step, the wood creaking slightly under my weight. I took another step..

And another...

My head suddenly starts to ache a lot and I felt myself getting dizzy each time I took a single step. Nonetheless I still go up the stairs, my hand gripping the fence(whatever it is called) as a support.

I've been walking up the stairs slowly and it seemed like the stairs are expanding every time I took a step. My vision starts to blur and the pain starts to increase.

Three steps..

My legs is starting to feel jelly-like..

Four steps...

My hands became slippery..

Five steps..

I feel drowsy..

Six steps..

I can't bear the pain..

Seven steps..

I couldn't breathe..

Eight steps...

"Help.."

Nine steps....

"A few more hours Brycey.."

Ten--

Thud..
