Elle's P.O.V.
Hi. I'm Elle. I am trans MtF (that means I was assigned Male at birth but I identify as a woman). My deadname is James. A deadname is the name I was given at birth, but I do not identify with it now. I live in a small, conservative town. I can't come out. My brother knows. He's accepting. My mom doesn't know and she never will. She is the most transphobic person I know.*beep beep* * beep beep* My phone alarm went off. I rolled over and slammed my hand on it, effectively silencing it. I fell back asleep and two minutes later, my mom burst into my room, pulling open the blinds. "Rise and shine James honey!" She said cheerfully. I groaned. I loved being woken up by my deadname. So great. I sit up and yawn. "Breakfast will be ready in 20 minuets." She said, walking out of my room. I walked to my bathroom and stripped down to take a shower. I looked at my body. I hated it. I hated the male body I was born into. It's not me. I got in the shower and smiled. My brother had bought some more of the "Strawberry Dove" shampoo I like. I squeezed some out and scrubbed my hair. I stepped out of the shower and dried off, going to my room and finding clothes. I pulled on a pair of lace panties my friend Rhi gave me, a pair of black skinny jeans, a tight, hot pink shirt, and a cropped denim jacket. Not super feminine, but it was what I could do for today. I walked downstairs just as mom put breakfast on the table. I ate my eggs and toast. I brushed my teeth and grabbed my bag. "Bye mom I'm off to school." I called out. "Bye honey!" She replied. I started walking to school, playing my playlist on my phone. I got to school and went to my locker, putting my stuff in it and getting my books for first period. "Hey James. Why are you wearing a pink shirt? You a fag?" I sighed internally. The jocks. Their leader: John Lillis. Four-time state champion of track-and-field and diving. He thinks that he is king of the school. "Hey I'm talkin' to ya" he said, shoving me slightly. I turned around. "Oh you were? I heard you say fag and I assumed you were talking about yourself, since that's the only thing your pea-sized brain can comprehend." I said, closing my locker and walking away. I walk into my first period class, history. I liked history. We were studying modern Asia this semester. Mainly China, Korea, and Japan. I sat next to my friend Rhi. She had long, curly blonde hair. "Hey Elle. How are you?" She greeted me. She was very soft-spoken and shy. She was one of the very few people who knew I was trans. "I'm good Rhi. How about you?" "Oh. I'm good thanks". She responded. After class, she walked to my locker with me. Our lockers are next to each other. "We are getting a new student today" she said. "Really? Who?" I asked. I like meeting new people. "His name is Sam." I wonder if he's cute.
Done! Next chapter will introduce Sam. Hope you enjoyed!!
