On the way home from work on Christmas Eve, 26-year-old blue-collar worker Yamada stumbles upon a drunk and crying high school boy and takes him in for the night. This boy, Chihiro, is polite, a good housekeeper, and lives quite close by, so he ends up coming over to Yamada's place from time-to-time to cook for him as thanks for the rescue.
