Hidan's Gift

Shimo

A young girl giggled loudly running through the house, she could hear loud foot steps behind her. However this did not deter her from her destination, the kitchen.
"Shimo!" A grumble behind her caused her to instantly shrieked in joy, especially when she was suddenly picked up and whirling in the air.
"Weeeee!!!" She squealed, flailing her arms like a bird as her tail flickered happily behind her.
"Gotcha!" Hidan chuckled, giving her a gentle kiss on the cheek."what were you after Little Kira?"
When the baby girl gurgled in response, he gave a few nods of understanding.
"Yes, I was in the mood for cereal as well." He mused, causing Shimo to giggle and squirm around.
Sitting her in her high chair, he began to hum as he searched through the counter for their favorite cereal.
"Ah ha!" He declared, spinning around with a box of Lucky Charms Marshmellows only.
Instantly Shimo was squealing and reaching out for the food, her tiny fingers gripping and ungripping at the box.
With quick, sure movements that showed he'd done this a million times, Hidan made two bowls of cereal.
As soon as it was in front of the toddler, she dug in completely overlooking the spoon beside her bowl again.
Hidan watched her, his motions casual as he watched his baby eat with gusto.
He honestly never thought he'd find himself in this situation at this point in his life.
'Then again is probably still be in that hole...' he grumbled, obviously not liking the thought.
Suddenly there was a splay noise, and Hidan found marshmallows slowly sliding down his face with a bit of milk.
Shimo was looking as innocent as ever, but soon enough couldn't hold it in anymore and started to squeal with laughter.
Before she could bask in her glee, marshmallows were plopped onto her cheeks.
She stared in surprise at her smirking father, who was holding his spoon like a paint brush.

Athanasia walked into the cabin her father had created just for them, caring a new box of cereal as well as other groceries.
She whistled, taking her flats off at the front door then heading for the kitchen.
But stopped at a strange sight....

everything was clean.....

"Hidan?!" She screamed, dropping the groceries and running through the house in a panic.
After checking both bed rooms, she found herself in the master bathroom staring at her husband with wide eyes.
Hidan grinned up at her from the tub, which was now filled with milk and marshmallows.
"Wanna join in?" He asked, eyeing his wife who looked like she was choking.
Suddenly, Athanasia bursted into laughter causing the two in the tub to pause and stare at her with curiosity.
Shimo began to swim around her dad, trying to look like a mermaid in her scaled bathing suit.
Hidan was currently wearing his black and white swim trunks, and had a bunch of marshmallows stuck in his hair.
Athanasia gave a shrug, and went to change then joined them in their milk pool.

Later that night, after Shimo was fast asleep and Hidan laying out on the bed there was a knock on the door.
Athanasia left a sleeping Shimo in her crib before heading to the door. When she opened it, she could feel her heart swell and pain echoed through her soul as sharp as Hidan's scythe.
"The Akatsuki are no more..." At the sound of a mans voice, Hidan got up and was at the door scythe in hand, ready for a fight.
What he saw froze him in his tracks, then taking in Athanasia's expression he frowned.

"Come in..." Athanasia motioned the hooded figure inside.
After shutting the door, the trio moved to the living area.
Hidan sat on the rocking chair with Athanasia curled up in his lap, while Tobi stood by the window.
"The Akatsuki has disbanded." He repeated, and Hidan sighed running a hand through his hair.
"What are your plans?" Her voice was soft, giving Hidan an idea of how hurt she was at loosing her friends.
"To bring peace to the world." Tobi turned to the two, his red eye gleaming in the dark room. "Will you join me?"
He took a step forward, looking at Athanasia specifically wishing for her to say yes, but praying she said no.
"I'm pregnant..." she whispered, looking at Tobi with a small smile," a boy..."
Underneath his mask Tobi was positively gleaming with joy, all the while Hidan was smirking again.
"Again? After so soon?" He wondered allowed, watching as Athanasia chuckled and Hidan's smirk grew.
"I heal fast." Was all she had to say."
Tobi gave a small shake of his head, amusement clear in his body movement as he plopped down on their couch.
"I'll keep my people away from your home then, I can't speak for the other side however. I'm sure with Kakashi at your side he will try to do the same." Tobi sighed and took off his mask, causing Hidan's jaw to drop.
Athanasia smiled,"Would you like to Shimo?" She asked, getting up when she got a strong nod in return.
The two walked off to her daughters room, leaving behind a shocked Hidan.

Tobi stared down at the child, who was currently snuggling with her own tail.

"Will she look like you?" He asked, noticing how her hair color and features were a bit different then he remember.
Athanasia chuckled gently,"Actually her hair changes colors based on her mood. Right now she's happy." With that she leaned over and gently kissed Shimo's nose. This caused the girl to giggle and clutch at her tail a bit more.
Tobi smiled down at the child, then gently ran his fingers through her hair.
He gave a slight start when she woke up with a yawn, and at the sight of the strange man she giggled.
Instantly her arms and legs were squirming in the air, and Athanasia smiled at the sight.
"She wants you to pick her up."
Tobi gave an apologetic smile for waking her up, then picked the child up. Instantly she was back asleep, hiding her face against his neck as he held her gently.
"I've been wondering something..." Tobi whispered, gently rubbing Shimo on the back as she slept in his arms.
After a small wave for him to continue, Tobi gave a sigh and sat down in a chair.
"In the past you acted like you knew who I was from the beginning. With that first hug..." he looked away with a sigh, realizing how stupid that sounded.
"Well, because I did...you were my first choice you see." Athanasia said gently, watching as Toni's face morphed from confusion to shock.
"Why did you...choose him over me?" He ended up asked, then murmured sweetness to Shimo who was grumpy about all the talking.
As soon as she settled Athanasia sighed,"Well, I saw you at a young age, and decided you were to be my mate. But my father saw your future, and told me not to disturb your fate....either way it wouldn't have mattered, because then I met Hidan and well..." a small blush covered her face by the end, and Tobi could do nothing but stare at her.
Hidan stood at the doorway, watching his wife with a smile.
"She met me, and realized I was her soulmate."
Athanasia turned to look at her husband, and when the smile took over her face Tobi realized he was in the presence of true absolute love.
And even more so, he was hold an example of that love against his chest.
