"Skylar don't play games," she smirked.
"Oh lord, Aspen. Think about this what would it look like if he and I started dating. Not good right. Then you know what would start up. Rumors."
"But look past the rumors."
"Aspen, its harder to look past the rumors when everyone is talking about things that aren't true."
"I know." She looked down at her phone.
"So what was the news you had to tell me?" I questioned.
"Oh never mind."
"No Aspen, what was it?" I started to panic.
"Don't worry about it ok?"
"No I have to now. Come on tell me." I was definitely panicking. "Is it about me or?"
"Yeah well."
"What!"
"Trish and her new little posey came up with a rumor that only acted up in that one class so you could go with Aidan and ya. Also about how much of a pathetic loser you are and that you just want attention."
"What. When the fuck did she say this?"
"Oh when you were at your volleyball thing."
"Ugh. I didn't. Like you know how much I hate that teacher and her daughter. But why do you think she did this?"
"Because she's a cruel backstabbing jealous bitch," Aspen mentioned.
"But what is she jealous of? Like I have nothing to be jealous of. Plus I overheard her telling people they should totally do something to me." I was so nervous now.
"Sky, don't worry about this. We will figure it out later." Aspen looked down at her phone. Her mom was calling her. She picked it up and said "fine whatever."
"Do you have to go home?" I asked upset.
"Yeah I'm so sorry Skylar."
"Ok it's fine don't worry about it. I understand." She walked out my door and left.
I laid back and just closed my eyes. What are they going to do to me? I wondered.
I walked down the stairs and into the living room.
"Mom, I have to run to the store for something." I whispered.
"Ok be careful," she whispered back.
I grabbed my keys from the table and walked out to my car. I drove to the one spot and just sat there, on top of my car and looked at the stars. I looked at the time and it was 11:30. I had four missed calls and seven texts, I didn't even look at who they were from.
Putting down my phone, I heard a car drive by and then drive by again. And again. Afraid, I got in my car and locked the doors. The car eventually pulled next to mine and I had a mini heart attack. I just sat there closed my eyes and prayed that it wasn't those people, until someone knocked on the window. I opened my eyes and it was Aidan. I unlocked the doors and got out.
"Why are you here," I half whispered.
"You left your bag in my car, again."
"Ugh, sorry."
"It's fine," he smiled and handed me my bag. I threw it into the backseat and slammed the door shut.
"Sky, what's wrong?" He asked.
"Oh nothing." I climbed to the top of my car.
"Really?" He sat next to me. "It doesn't seem like it's nothing."
"I know but."
"I think I know what this is about," he mentioned.
"Ok spill."
"It's about the Trish thing isn't it?"
"Yeah. But I don't want people thinking I just want attention and all that.
"I don't honestly care Skylar. I know it's not true. Because think about it, you stood up to that teacher and then I did. So that bitch doesn't know what she's talking about. But what she doesn't know. Emmitt started a rumor about her. Well it wasn't a rumor it was more like what she did at that party." He smiled.
"What?" I was feeling a little better.
"She got so drunk and someone, not gonna mention names but I did like a minute ago, took a picture of her and now it's getting around."
I grinned, "which means she is not allowed to participate in any extracurricular activities this year if it gets to the faculty." I know it's bad to be happy when something is going really wrong for a person, but hey, she's a bitch.
"Exactly. So don't worry about her she has her own problems to face."
"Ok." I felt a little relieved. "But the question is... how did you find where I was?"
"Oh. I uh drove by your house and saw that you weren't home. So I guessed you were here and I was right. Like always."
"Oh yeah yeah right."
"Are you saying I'm not always right?"
"That's exactly what I'm saying."
"Ok thanks for helping me and for giving me my bag back, but I should probably get home because otherwise imma get in trouble."
"That's fine see ya."
We both got in our cars and I drove away first. Well, I thought to myself. At least she's gonna get in hella trouble.
I know I'm a bad person but don't judge ok?
I got home and quietly walked upstairs because everyone was sleeping. I walked in my room and threw my bag on the floor. And plopped down on my bed and fell asleep.
Sunday was boring as hell and went by super fast.
But then that meant it was Monday. The first dreadful Monday of the year.
I woke up, barely got any sleep. But what's new. I walked over to my closet, opened the door, looked at my clothes, yawned, walked back to my bed, and fell back asleep.
The next thing I know someone hit me with a pillow. "Get the hell out of bed," Aspen yelled.
I sat straight up. "Thanks. I wasn't trying to sleep or anything."
"Well it's 7:45."
"Ya ya ya," I yawned. "But it's also a Monday. And the opportunity for something terrible to happen."
"Think positive Skylar. Pssht ya just kidding. Who thinks positive these days."
"You do have a good point. Anyways find me something to wear while I'll go brush my teeth."
"Ight, fine whateves," she walked over to my closet.
I walked out of the room and into the bathroom.
"Good morning honey," Mom said as she walked by.
"Mornin Mom, where's dad at?" I asked looking unhappy.
"Oh he's on a, uh, business trip." She said trying to hide something.
"Oh ok whatever," I mentioned and brushed my teeth.
She walked down the stairs and I could hear her heels click on the hardwood floor as she walked. I kept listening until she walked out the door and left.
"Yo, did you pick out something yet ass?" I yelled from the bathroom.
"Shut up and yes." She yelled back.
I walked back to my room. She picked out some really ripped up shorts with pockets coming out of the front and a USA tank top.
"Thanks youngin," I joked.
I put on the clothes and some mascara. "Alright let's go." I grabbed my bag and walked downstairs, Aspen following.
We walked out to the car and I drove to school. As soon as I pulled into my spot in the parking lot someone walked up to my car. It was Trish.
"I KNOW IT WAS YOU. YOU FUCKING BITCH! GET OUT OF THE DAMN CAR, IM GOING TO KICK YOUR ASS!" She screamed in tears.
I looked over at Aspen and she looked at me. We grabbed our bags and got out. Trish attacked me. She leaped onto my back and pulled my hair. I couldn't fight back but what could I do. The first thing that came to mind was scream. And then she scratched me across the arm and left marks. That didn't fly. I threw her down and walked away. I didn't want to be apart of this. She picked herself off the ground and ran towards me.
"COME ON BITCH WHY ARNT YOU FIGHTING? COME AT ME!" She screamed.
"Stop," I said.
She started pulling my hair when someone came up beside her and pulled her away. I looked over and it was Emmitt.
"Thanks," Aspen and I quickly walked away. I immediately went to the locker room to fix my hair because it was such a freaking mess.
"I can believe she did that," Aspen said. "I would've beat her ass but I didn't want to get in trouble."
"It's fine, she was just trying to get me in trouble. That's her plan. I did nothing to her. So I'm not to be worried about it." I brushed my hair.
"Wait what happened to you? Last night you were all upset and worried and then now you are all chill about it. What happened?"
"I don't know Aspen. I just thought about it and how dumb it is. So I'm not going to let it bother me." I turned towards her.
"Ok whatever you say. As long as you're fine now."
We walked out of the locker room. I'm not gonna lie. There were some eyes on me. But I brushed it off. It was probably the whole fight thing though.
I was surprised at myself for not fighting back, but I knew that if I did I would be punished. That's what they want.
I walked to my locker alone. John came up to me.
"Wow, I didn't know that you could be so afraid." He tried to tease.
"Ok first off.., john."
He nodded.
"Try to at least come up with something snarky to say. Not just a bunch of garbage that just came out of your mouth. But I guess that's all you are; trash." I looked at him, shut my locker, and walked away.
He was in aw that I would say something like that because I normally don't lash out, unless its needed.
"Bitch." He yelled at me down the hallway.
I just walked away and smiled. It felt good to tell someone off this early in the morning.
People laughed as I walked down the hallway, hearing the faint noise of the video of the "fight." Or what it really was just Trish acting like a ass. But it's her nature, what do you expect.
I walked up to Aspen. "You'll never guess."
She shut her locker and looked at me. "You told someone off! Who was it?!" She was excited.
"How did you know?"
"It's that look you get on your face."
I smiled. "It w," I started but she cut me off.
"Ohh ohh let me guess... it was John. He just walked by and the look on his face had a hint of scared."
I laughed ,"you guessed it right."
We walked to the locker room and changed for gym. "Hey can I borrow a hair tie?" I asked as I was putting on my shoes.
"Oh no, is this going to be an everyday ritual like last year?"
"Duh why wouldn't it be?"
She handed me a hair tie and we walked out the door.
"Alright we're going to the track. You have to at least run the mile," the gym teacher yelled.
"Go figure he always does this. Especially when it's a hundred fricken degrees outside." Aspen rolled her eyes.
"Oh don't forget about those dreadful pacers," I mentioned.
"Girl don't even get me started," she was getting pissed just thinking about it.
"Calm yourself child," I joked.
"Yeah I know. I just don't want to be here."
"Is it sad to say, I'm already at that point in school where I just don't give a fuck," I said seriously.
"Skylar." She looked me dead in the eyes. "I was like then before school even started."
I started to laugh. "Even though I don't give a fuck, I will still try and stress over school. It's an every year thing."
"Same."
We reached the track and we had to run.
"Ugh," she said.
I know," I dreaded.
We were about two laps in when Aidan ran up to us.
"Come on ladies, you're slacking. Chop chop." He clapped his hands.
"Aidan. This is why you don't have any friends," I joked.
"Whatever," he rolled his eyes and flipped us off.
"Moore." The gym teacher yelled. "I saw that, take one more lap around. You need to be ready for Friday's game." He continued.
"Ok coach," Aidan shot us a look, smiled, and ran off.
Aspen elbowed my arm. I looked at her and smiled.
"What?"
"Oh you know he has a thing for you," she whispered.
We were on our last lap and I could feel every footstep I ran on the track in my shins. It was so hot out and we had to do this. I looked over and saw Aspen's blonde hair sticking to her face, from the heat. I couldn't breathe. Everything started to get blurry. The last thing I felt was my elbows hitting the hot asphalt track.

High School Sucks; or what I thought
Teen FictionLet's be honest; high school is far from the "picture perfect" high school musical movie that we all watched when we were young. High school is, let's just say, adventurous. Take it from me, Skylar, a junior at East high. I thought that high school...
